"Andy, where's Maya?" Carina asks entering the station and looking at the crew that just pulled in from the call with none being her wife.

"She was in the gym when the call went out and we couldn't wait for her." Andy comes near Carina. "She's not okay. I was on my way to look for her," But Carina shakes her head.

"She didn't make it to the call? That doesn't make any sense." Carina thinks knowing her wife would never leave a shift without a word. "I'm going to look for her."

"Take her home, Carina. She was in physical pain all day and it affected her in the field. She shouldn't be working. It's dangerous for her and everyone else." Andy pleads and knows Carina understood by the look she was given.

Carina walks directly to the gym knowing her wife would have been there last. She has an unsettling feeling her in stomach knowing something was very wrong. Maya would never let her team go without her. As Carina makes it up the stairs, she prays that she's just blowing this all out of proportion.

"No. no. no. no," She whispers rushing into the gym catching sight of her wife from the window. "Maya! Maya!" She shouts and shakes her while being cautious of a spinal injury. She got no response and checked for a pulse. "Okay, Maya. Maya, stay with okay? I'm here."

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP!" Carina says in shock as tears stream down her face. This can't be happening. "HELP! PLEASE!"

"Carina-... shit," Vic comes running to the source of the yelling. She runs back out to get a med bag and heads to the beanery to inform her team. "It's Maya! Help! She's in the gym."

Everyone drops everything and sprints towards the gym.

"Oh no."

"Oh my God."

"Maya."

"Please help! Please," Carina sobs. "She's not waking up."

"Before we move her, Hughes, hold c-spine. Theo, Travis, help me roll her, carefully." Ben commands while Andy positions herself hugging Carina from behind and managing to grab her arms from reaching out to Maya.

"On the count of 3. One. Two. Three," Hughes says and holds Maya's head in line with her spine as much as possible while the team gets her on her back. A c-collar is immediately placed by Theo. Maya's shirt is cut off leaving her in her sports bra and leggings. Travis attaches leads and Warren listens to her lungs followed by a quick primary assessment. "Blunt trauma to the head. Pupils are slow to react and sluggish. The clavicle and shoulder are dislocated and possibly fractured. The left ankle is fractured as well. Maya, if you can hear me squeeze my hands." Warren got no response and even tried a sternum rub to get some sort of pain reaction, but Maya stays painfully unresponsive. Carina is hysterical in Andy's arms trying to go back to her wife.

"IV is in," Vic responds. "We need to go to Grey-Sloan, now. I'll start the rig."

They place Maya on a spinal board and carry her down the stairs not waiting for the elevator. Vic had pulled out the stretcher and they quickly load her into it. Warren and Travis jump in the back while Andy manages to bring Carina on as well.

"What the hell is going on?" Beckett comes as they were about to close the back doors of the rig.

"It's your fault, man! I told you, you were going to get her killed!" Theo pushes Beckett.

"Hey! Hey!" Sullivan says coming out of nowhere separating the two.

"What is happening?" Chief Ross comes out.

"We found Bishop unresponsive in the gym and God knows how long she's been down because this jackass didn't have anyone check when we were called out. If she dies, this is on you." With that Theo jumps closes the back doors and hops in the passenger seat.

"I'm calling dispatch. Your team is out of service until the next shift. You better pray Bishop makes it." Chief Ross says walking out to make a phone call.

On route to the hospital, there wasn't much the team could do as most of the injuries were internal. Carina manages to be freed by Andy and just holds her wife's hand.

"Bambina, listen to me. Whatever we are going through, it's okay. You need to pull through. I need you. Please. You are all I have left. Please, Maya." Carina sobs and the team look somber and in pain watching one of their own in such an awful state. "I'm waiting for you. I love you, bambina."

Minutes felt like hours but arriving to the ambulance bay, everything was organized chaos.

"34-year-old female, found unconscious and has yet to awaken. Blunt trauma to the left side of her temple area. Pupils are slow to react and sluggish. Damage to the shoulder, clavicle, and ankle."

"What happened?" Bailey demands.

"Unwitnessed fall."

"Oh, Maya," Bailey whispers under her breath. "Take her to trauma room two."

"Maya, if you can hear me I need you to squeeze my hands," Amelia asks as soon as they transfer her over from the stretcher to the bed. She then tries to pinch her forearm. "No response to verbal or painful stimuli. The pupils aren't looking good either. She needs to go right to CT."

"Get a head-to-toe CT!" Link instructed unsure of just how much damage there could be.

"Can we also get full labs and bloodwork done." Bailey shouts remembering Ben told her Maya was working herself to the ground. She needs to cover all her bases.

"Her blood pressure is rising. We need to go now!" Amelia says and she unlocks the bed and guides it to the elevators.

"Amelia, don't let her die." Carina cries out being held back by Andy again so the doctors can do their jobs. Amelia doesn't say anything except nod her head but not promising anything.

When Maya is out of sight, Carina lets herself drop to the floor as the shock wears off. Andy's quick to react slows down the fall as she was already in her grip.

"Woah. Woah. Carina." The rest of the team inch closer to the two in case they need something.

"Carina, Maya will pull through. She's got this." Travis kneels in front of her and Vic is right next to him.

"You don't know that!" Carina's demeanor does a 180 turn. "How long was she like? On the ground, unconscious?" She looks at Maya's team's faces but they all look guilty away from her. "HOW LONG?" She pushes out of Andy's arm and stands up. Anger rises into every cell of her body.

"Two hours." Theo says.

"She was alone like that for two hours? TWO HOURS?"

"Carina, Beckett didn't wait for us to check on why she didn't come to the call on time and-" Andy starts but is cut off.

"She doesn't miss a call. She's been working injured and exhausted for months now. She will keep going until she's physically unable to make it to the trucks. Dio mio. Siete degli idioti del cazzo. Cieco! Maya era tutta sola." She begins to walk off knowing this wasn't Maya's family anymore. She would have never left one of them behind. To make things worse, Jo Wilson convinced her to get blood drawn to see if she was pregnant around the time Maya would have fallen off the treadmill. Now Carina is all by herself, pregnant, with no one to help her grieve.
