Gabriella's POV:

I woke up this morning with a headache. I went to Regina's birthday party yesterday and may have had one too many. I groan at the sunlight that's snaking through the little gap in the curtains and I realise I'm not in my room I begin to panic slightly but then I realise I'm in my best friend Vicki's room. I look over and see a glass of water and Advil beside my phone on the nightstand. I take the Advil and head into her bathroom to take a shower.

When I get out I head into Vicki's closet and pick out an outfit then I do my hair and light makeup and I see that Vicki has left her hair curler out again so she must've gotten up a while ago.

I head to the kitchen and I see a note on the island.

Hey baby,
You got a little drunk last night and I didn't want you to be alone so I brought you home hope that was okay. I'm going over to Regina's to drop off some 'healthy snacks' I should be back by 10:00 see you then. xx

I look at the time on my phone and realised that it was already 10:10 so I got a little worried because she's usually on time for literally everything so I thought I would just give her a call just to make sure she was okay but she didn't answer which made me even more worried because she never misses my calls. I waited till 10:30 and I couldn't take it anymore so I drove over to Regina's house. When I got there I saw police cars and an ambulance and my stomach dropped but then I saw Vickie over by the fountain and I breathed a sigh of relief and parked the car. As I'm heading over a policeman stops me.

"Sorry ma'am but you can be here," he said but then I hear a small voice

"Leave her be she's with me," Vicki says and he lets me walk over to her

"What happened Vick?" I ask concerned

"It's Regina sh-she's gone" she manages to get out before breaking down into tears

"oh Vicki I'm so sorry darling," I say as I wrap my arms around her trembling frame "come on let's get you home honey," I say guiding her to my car

By the time we get back to her house, Vicki has gone quiet and she's just staring out the window as tears still fall down her beautiful face. She doesn't react even when I open her door she just stares into space so I pick her up bridal style and take her up to her room.

I get a makeup wipe and clean her face then I go to her closet and get her a comfy pair of joggers and her favourite hoodie which I'm now realising is one of mine that she stole

"Right come on let's get u comfy," I say walking in and helping her out of her jeans and into the joggers then I help take her blouse off and I go to put the hoodie over her head but she pushes it away and mumbles a quiet no "what's wrong doll it's your favourite hoodie?" I ask and she looks at me with her big brown eyes and a trembling lip

"It doesn't smell like you anymore" she admits looking down

"Oh okay well I have one in my car if you want that one and I'll wear this one now so you can have it back with my smell how about that?" I ask smiling and she nods "okay I'll be back in a second sweetheart," I say and leave to get the hoodie. When I get back she's still standing looking small right where I left her in nothing but a pair of joggers and a bra "okay here we are" I say helping her put the hoodie on. I help her into bed and turn to leave but she grabs my hand

"Don't leave me" she says in a small voice and I melt

"Okay darling don't worry I'm not going anywhere," I say and get into the bed beside her she looks at me for a second before rolling over on top of me and resting her head on my chest. I wrap my arms around her waist, lightly tracing shapes on her lower back as she fiddles with a piece of my hair. After a while, I hear her breathing even out as she falls asleep

*A few hours later*

I ended up falling asleep myself when I woke up Vicki was still sleeping peacefully I tried to slip out from under her but she tightened her arms around me so I had to pry her arms away from my waist so I could get up. I decided after a while that I would make her something to eat so I got to work on that.

As I'm making the food I hear Vicki's door open then a moment later she walks in

"What are you doing here I thought you left" she grumbled

"I'm making your favourite," I tell her

"I'm not hungry," she says and I frown

"Come on sweetheart you have to eat," I say

"Didn't you hear me I said I'm not hungry" she huffs

"Okay no stop that right now"

"Stop what"

"Pushing me away there's no point because I'm not leaving you until your okay come on it's me," I say walking over to her and she glares at me but then her face softens

"Your right I'm sorry Gabi," she says hugging me "you know Regina always wanted me to do this," she says pulling away and staring into my eyes

"Do wha-" I start but I'm cut off by her soft lips on mine. When we finally pull away breathless I smile "finally," I say and she chuckles

"Oh shut your mouth," she says and pushes me away and I walk over to the food "no wait come back," she says walking over and hugging me from behind and I chuckle.
