You woke up very early, even though, it was your day off. And even though you were wide awake, you didn't even want to get out of bed. You lay there motionless, immersed in memories that, like flashes, appeared before your eyes.
Yesterday's short conversation messed with your head. Meeting again with the man, who hurt you so much, and at the same time stole your whole heart - made you walk on shaky ground again. You were tired. It took a lot to get back to normal, when you weren't bursting into tears like an unstable hysteric, or when you weren't lost in time and space ignoring everyone around you. You've learned to live again. And that's how it should stay. And now he was back beside you, wanting to get closer again. Should you let him in?

You were going to go shopping in the morning like a fugitive. You did everything in your power not to make any noise, hoping you wouldn't wake him up, or that you wouldn't accidentally meet him in the hallway.
You turned the lock on the door like in slow motion, shivering at every sound it made. You opened the door a crack, slowly, cautiously peering out into the corridor. It was empty. Lucky you.

You put your foot outside and hit a small gift box by it.
"Oh?" You were surprised when you picked up the package. "Gift?" you asked yourself, although it was a purely rhetorical question - after all, the package was tied with a red, shiny bow, and the note pinned to it clearly indicated your name.
You went back to your apartment and closed the door behind you. Curiosity won over hunger - shopping had to wait.

You plopped down on the soft couch and turned the small package over in your hands.
Apart from your name, there was no additional information on it. The name of JK flashed through your mind, but you dismissed the thought immediately.
Your fingers ran through the slick, shiny ribbon and you opened the box.
Inside you found an elegant black velvet jewellery box. With slightly trembling fingers, you opened it and peeked inside.
Two - almost identical bracelets lay joined together in the middle. One black, the other white, both connected in the middle by a small silver heart.
You turned them over in your hands, delighted. "Couples bracelets..." you mumbled under your breath with a slight smile. Now you were almost sure who gave it to you. Still, you wanted to double check it.

You texted Jungkook.
"It's from you, isn't it?"

The answer came almost immediately, as if he was just waiting for you to send it.
"Yes. Did you like them?"

You smiled. He was so stubborn. Even tho you thought you had made your position clear, Jungkook was still trying to get your attention. The gift was beautiful, that's true. But you couldn't accept it. It would mean too much. And there was no more room for a relationship between the two of you. You put the box on the table, intending to return it to him at the next opportunity.
You got ready to go shopping again. The sound of the notification stopped you at the door.

"Can you come to me for a moment with these bracelets?"

You hesitated. The last thing you needed was to see his face again. Every time you saw his big brown deer eyes in front of you, your heart melted like ice in the sun. His voice made every, even the biggest wound, heal. But your mind kept reminding you, that it was him, that caused the wounds. Can poison also be medicine?

He invited you, and you still wanted to return the gift to him. So...since the opportunity arose... why to not take advantage of it?
You grabbed the box and left the apartment. You slowly made your way to his door. Before the fear completely paralyzed you - you knocked loudly without further delay.

In your ears, your heart seemed to be chiming like a bell at noon in Notre Dame Cathedral, your legs were trembling, and your breathing already established its own rhythm. So much for your plan to pull yourself together.
You heard hurried footsteps and the door opened wide. There was no turning back now. You tightened your fingers on the box until they turned completely white.
