The marriage of Rukmini and Krishna was a grand affair, filled with joy, celebration, and festivity. As the wedding ceremony came to an end, everyone began to feel the fatigue of the long day. The guests had indulged in sumptuous food, danced to the beats of the dhol, and participated in various rituals and ceremonies that marked the auspicious occasion.

As the night wore on, it became apparent that everyone was eager to retire to their respective chambers to rest and recover from the exhaustion of the day . They knew that they had a long journey ahead of them, as they would need to travel back to their kingdoms early in the morning. Some guests had come from far-off lands and would need to make arrangements for their journey back home .

Karna stood on the palace balcony, his gaze fixed on the serene moon above. His heart was filled with contentment, for the wedding ceremony of Rukmini and Krishna had gone off without a hitch.

As he lost himself in the tranquility of the night, Karna was joined by Krishna, who had come looking for him . Krishna could not help but notice the peaceful expression on Karna's face and felt compelled to engage him in conversation.

"Vrisha , what are you doing here at this hour?" Inquired Krishna.

Karna looked at Krishna with a knowing smile and replied, "Keshav, must I not ask you the same question? Shouldn't the newlywed groom be enjoying the company of his bride on their first night together?"

Karna teased his friend playfully, implying that Krishna had been kicked out of his chambers by his beloved consort .

Krishna who chuckled heartily and reassured Karna , "Do not worry ,Vrisha. I have not been expelled from my chambers by my dear Rukmini. I am simply enjoying the cool breeze and the company of a good friend."

Karna reminisced about the past, his mind wandering back to the time when he had first met Rukmini. "It has been years since I became friends with Rukmini," he remarked to Krishna. "I still remember how we became friends. It was when Rukmi came to Magadha to check the alliance with Vidarbha after Jarasandh's death."

Karna's thoughts drifted back to that fateful day, the memory still fresh in his mind. He remembered how Rukmini had stood out from the crowd, her grace and beauty catching his eye. They had struck up a conversation, and from that moment on, a friendship had blossomed between them.

"Rukmini is a remarkable woman," Karna continued, his voice filled with admiration.

" She is not only beautiful, but also intelligent, kind-hearted, and strong-willed. It is no wonder that you fell in love with her." Krishna smiled hearing the words of karna

Both continued their chats .However, as the hour grew late, both Karna and Krishna knew it was time to retire for the night. They bid each other goodnight and went their separate ways, each returning to his own chamber to rest and prepare for the journey ahead

As Karna lay in his bed, his thoughts returned once again to the day's events. He couldn't help but recall the stunning beauty of Subhadra, who had captivated his attention during the ceremony.

He remembered how she had looked in her pristine white lehenga, her beauty enhanced by the purity of the color. He couldn't take his eyes off her, even though he knew it was not appropriate to stare.

Karna couldn't deny that he had been struck by her charm and grace. He marveled at how she had carried herself throughout the wedding, her every movement was graceful and elegant .

Then Karn, with a resolute mind, made the conscious choice to gently close his eyes and surrender himself to the peaceful embrace of slumber.

As Karna made his way through the grand corridors, fresh from his morning suryapooja, his ears were unexpectedly met with a sound that gave him pause. Despite knowing he should not eavesdrop, he found himself unable to resist the temptation to stand rooted to the spot, listening intently as the name of Subadhra reached his ears .

Arjun approached his mother Kunti with a request that stirred her own heart with happiness. He asked her to request the hand of Subadhra in marriage for him, for he had fallen deeply and irrevocably in love with her. Kunti's joy knew no bounds upon hearing this, for she had harbored a wish in her heart to see Subadhra wed to one of her own sons.

Excited at the prospect, Kunti began to consider the possibilities. She wondered if Vasudev and Devaki, the parents of Subadhra, would be open to the proposal.

As Karna overheard Arjun's plea to his mother for Subadhra's hand in marriage, his world came crashing down around him. A searing pain shot through his heart, overwhelming him with a sense of loss he had never felt before. He didn't know why he was feeling this way, but he knew he didn't want Subadhra to marry Arjun.

Images of Arjun and Subadhra, happy and carefree at a recent wedding, flashed through his mind. In that moment, his mind betrayed him, convincing him that Subadhra also reciprocated Arjun's feelings, even though it wasn't the truth. The realization that his unrequited love for Subadhra would forever remain unfulfilled was a burden too heavy for him to bear .

Karna's mind was in turmoil, and in his moment of anguish, he dropped the kalash he had carried for the pooja. The sound of it crashing to the ground echoed through the corridors, drawing the attention of Kunti and Arjun.

Kunti, seeing her eldest son wonder what happened ? Meanwhile, Arjun, looking at Karna's face, knew immediately that he had overheard their conversation.

Kunti's eyes widened with worry as she noticed the anguish etched on Karna's face. She couldn't help but ask, "Maharaj, is something troubling you? Are you alright?"

Karna forced a smile and tried his best to compose himself. "I'm alright, Rajmata," he said, struggling to keep his voice steady. "I was on my way to my chambers after completing my pooja when I accidentally dropped my Kalash. Please forgive me if I disturbed you both ."

Kunti nodded .

He couldn't bear to stay there any longer and so, with a heavy heart, he excused himself by saying, "If you'll excuse me, Rajmata, I have some urgent work to attend to."

As Karna rushed towards his chambers, Arjun couldn't help but smirk, knowing that Karna had overheard their conversation about Subhadra.
