Josephine Caroline Dutton was born on June 20th, 1994. She's 24 years old.

She has always loved being a Dutton, yes there are some bad things that come with it, but she'll always be proud to carry on that legacy.
She was adopted by her biological father's best friend, John Dutton and his wife Camille in 1998.
She is Black, Native American and White. Her birth father was White and her mother was Black and Native.
John is her rock, she's the only one he can talk to about anything that has to deal with his emotions, more than what he may tell to Beth or Kayce.
She got the nickname "Jo" when she was a little girl, her father always called her that. "Joey" comes from the wranglers, Lloyd says that they call her Joey because she's one of the guys.
She and Beth didn't get along when they were kids, they never really have. While Beth is a firecracker, who's always bold and determined to get what she wants, Josephine is different.
Josephine's quieter but speaks her mind when she wants to. She and Beth definitely show that they love each other, they just hold grudges against each other, which some that the family may know about, while other grudges aren't known by anyone but the two of them.
Of course, Josephine wishes they were close. But, she knew that it'd never happen. It wasn't possible. They were both too stubborn. She loves her sister and she is proud of all of her success, she just doesn't know how to show it because it's foreign for her, for both of them really.
She's closest to Kayce. They're closer in age, only being 4 years apart. They've always done things together and since he left home, their relationship had been strained. She feels partially guilty that he left, that she let their relationship become the way it is now.
Now that he is back, living at the ranch, it's given them an opportunity to catch up and become closer like they once were.
She and Jamie also have a rocky relationship, one day they love each other, and the next they hate each other. He's done a lot of bad for the family, and he's selfish, but she knows he had trouble growing up, getting made to do things to protect the family.
He keeps a lot in which is something she's tried to help him not do, but her helping doesn't do its justice. She finds herself in between her father and her brother whenever something else happens.
Lee has always been her protective older brother. Now that he's passed away, everything is different. Ever since he passed, she has had a weight on her shoulders and she was depressed for a while.
She couldn't sleep, eat, or get out of the house. Everyone was worried about her. She doesn't know how, but one day she felt motivated to go out and help the wranglers out with the horses.
Since then, her mood has been so much better. Josephine has been happier, always having a smile on her face.
She gets along pretty well with the wranglers. She and Rip Wheeler have a history, which is one of the reasons why she and her sister don't get along. Rip is very protective over Josephine and he gets jealous very quickly. She doesn't like that.
Sure, they've hooked up and have fallen in love once upon a time, but she's not his and he's not hers. She's single, so she should be allowed to be with or do whatever with anyone she wanted to.
She's also had a relationship with Travis Wheatley, them dating on and off since he lived in Texas, which is currently still a thing. Both of them understand it won't get anywhere near dating, but they both don't want to let go. They have been enjoying themselves with each other.
Being a person of color in Montana, it was never easy for her to fit in and be comfortable in her own skin. But, he father has always taught her that people shouldn't judge others because of what they look like.
Luckily, since the day she made it to the Dutton Ranch, she's felt welcome by her family. But, of course people would talk about the "dark skinned woman" who "claims to be a dutton."
Her brothers have gotten into many fights because of the rumors and all the talk. Kayce, Lee, and Jamie will do anything for Josephine, always there to protect her and stand up for her.

She went to college to get a graduate degree in agricultural business. She worked her butt off, making sure she graduated at the age of 22.
Josephine is the one to call when there needs to be peace made. Unlike her siblings, she's very civil and she respects everyone that's in the room, whether they deserve it or not. She doesn't like fighting or raising her voice, unless she has to.
Josephine is known to be the "Dutton Sweetheart" who everyone loves in Montana. Even though people may love her and see the good in her, there are some who are scared of her because of the name she carries.
