MAIN CATEGORIES EXPLAINED IN BRIEF:

· Teen Fiction/Young Adult

=Centered around characters still in high school or between the ages of 12-18 years of age. Can also be centred around characters in college or of that college age. 

· Romance/New Adult

=Considered the sweet spot for audiences of 18-30 years of age. Usually due to the priorities and perspectives of the Main Characters.

· Fantasy

=Set in a magical world, involving myths or made-up magical creatures and sometimes ideas or even humans from the real world. Fantasy creatures include but are not limited to dragons, mermaids, fae, werewolves etc

· Paranormal

=Form of supernatural fiction where stories can be set anywhere from metropolitan cities to small towns and can also be set in any time period. As long as things are beyond normal scientific explanations. Because of phenomena that include but are not limited to the occult, witches, ghosts, poltergeists, reincarnation, life after death etc

· Werewolf

· Dystopian

=Form of speculative fiction in an imagined world or society where people lead dehumanized, fearful lives with declining hope. Where characters battle the mad egoism of tech control government control, economic and/or environmental ruin.

· Sci-Fi

=Prinicipally deals with the impact or process of actual or imagined science upon individuals or a society. Therefore the plot can be centred around technology, time travel, outer space or scientific principles with or without aliens.
