I stood behind the back of my car, putting my load into the trunk of the car.
Her arms were still interwined with mine, I could hear her soft cries and sniffles.
"We're going to miss you" she said, while standing on her tippy toes to hug me. "Take care of yourself young man"
Mr Luca said to me after Ayala released me from the hug.
"You know I will" I chuckle before giving him a small hug.
"Here take this for the road, Incase you get hungry" Mia said, handing me some food. Food that I particularly disliked. "Thanks" I said with a small smile, trying to be grateful.
Ayala's mom stepped out of the house and quickly ran towards me and gave me a hug.
"Young man. You know I only expect the best of you. You are like a son to me" she said with a sniffle, Ayala is just like her.
"Take this. Only open it after Ayala comes to join you in the university" she said to me, handing me a small box, wrapped with baby pink wrapping paper, Ayala's favorite color.
"Thanks ma" I said to her, hugging her again.
I turned back towards Ayala after saying goodbye to everyone else. Her eyes were already red and puffy.
Damn I wish I could put her in my trunk and take her with me.
I hug her as she buries her head in my chest, I give her a forhead kiss, and then a kiss on the lips that lingered for a long time. "I'll see you soon baby" I said, ruffling her hair before giving her a hug and entering into my car.
