Chapter 12: the lunar message

Siegfried saw the palace was in ruins, except for the job research facility. Most of the palace walls were crumbling from the monster attack, and even the pipes that lined the walls were blown apart. He and Sonya walked down the main hall, seeing that the red carpet was torn up. Then he meets up with Laura and Eric in front of the door that lead to the throne room, and in Laura's hands was a red colored frog.

"We're glad to see you feeling better" said Eric with a relieved smile.

"Heh, my head cold was gone while battling some monsters" Siegfried grinned.

"Wait... you fought the monsters alone??" Laura questioned.

"I used up all my mp for my hot and cold water to defeat the monsters, some poisoned me and I used soapy water to wash the poison off" Siegfried answered.

This amazes his teammates, knowing that he had fought some monsters as his head cold was gone.

"Well, we used up our mp on spells to defeat Calofisteri" said Sonya.

"One question: what's with the large red frog? And why is Eric dressed like a candle?" Asked Siegfried

Laura explained to him that while is confined in the inn to recover, she and the other teammates have presented the emperor the Lunarian job classes. Then the emperor sent them to the job research facility to donate the crystal fragments that contain the job classes to the researchers, in which the head researcher offered them to try out the newly developed job classes. Eric tried out the Candle mage job class, in which it wasn't new but rather an ancient spellcasting class that was restored along with its branch of magic. Sonya tried out a defective job class, so one of the researchers used a device to undo it's effects. Then the palace was attacked by monsters, and she and the team rushed into the throne room. They found the emperor's clothes and the large red frog, and it's revealed that the frog itself was in fact the emperor that was cursed into that form.

"That's... hard to take" he said dumbfounded.

"Its true! We found him like this, before we fought the fiend of poison" said laura.

"The one question is: how do we undo the curse?" Sonya asked.

"I could try and use my toad spell to undo it, therefore, the emperor will turn back into a human" Laura answered.

Eric opened the door, and found that the throne room is buried under rubble of the ceiling that had collapsed. He get the feeling the emperor wouldn't be happy about seeing his clothes buried under rubble after transforming back into a human, luckily, Laura kept the crown within her satchel.

"Laura? Do you still have the emperor's crown?" He asked.

"Yes, why?" She replied.

"His imperial majesty won't be happy about his clothes being buried under the rubble" he said.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he might try on some other clothes by switching to a job class" Sonya assured.

The team looked out the giant hole on the stone wall that was caused by monsters, and saw the Blue moon out on the horizon in between the clouds. Then they watched as the light of the Blue moon pouring through the hole, before shaping into two humanoids. The two human shapes have no features, until it shaped into someone familiar. This was no doubt Fusoya, the old Lunarian sage, who projected himself to give the team a message. Next to him was a man with deep blue hair and short beard and dressed in a robe with a hood.

"Greetings, allies" said Fusoya.

"Old man, it's been awhile!" Siegfried smiled with glee, as he is happy seeing a familiar face.

"It has been. Now, the reason why I'm using the light of the moon to project myself, is because I managed to cure our friend here" Fusoya explained.

"That's good news, unfortunately the imperial palace was attacked by monsters led by the fiend of poison named Calofisteri. She even mentioned that she has been sent by her master named Arnos to disrupt the empire, and to steal the earth crystal" explained Sonya.

"I see... I fear that the fiends who are sent by this "Arnos" character are, in fact, Lunarians that are mutated by using some kind of dark magic and are brainwashed into his servitude. You may have foiled the fiend of poisons plan to steal the earth crystal, but the other crystals are in peril" Fusoya said in a somber tone, as he dread about killing the fiends that are actually mutated Lunarians.

"Don't worry, old man. We'll have to rescue the other crystals" Siegfried assured.

"I'm relieved. I'll have to use my magic to transport Calofisteri to the Crystal Palace, so I can cure her mutation with the eight lunar crystals" said Fusoya.

Then the two projections dissipated, thus ending the transmission. It is now the team's objective is to protect the other crystals, but first, they must turn the emperor back into a human. Laura carefully placed the red frog onto the floor, and told her teammates to stand back. Then she used what's left of her mp to cast the spell toad onto the red frog, in order to turn it back into the emperor.

*poof!*

There was a puff of smoke on where the red frog is, and everyone was coughing as the smoke envelopes them before leaving out into the giant hole. In the place of where the red is placed, there stood a human shaped shadow. As more of the smoke clears off, it is revealed that the emperor is now turned back into a human. Everyone's eyes were wide open before looking away, not only is the emperor is muscular, but he's also naked.

"Huh? What's everyone staring at me for?" Asked emperor Darill.

"I saved you from the fiend of poison, and turned you back into a human" replied Laura.

"I know, and thank you" he said.

Emperor Darill looked at himself and saw his body was wet from slime, he started blushing as he saw that he is naked before covering his private area with both hands.

"Um... have you seen my clothes? I feel very cold" he asked.

Laura handed him his crown before telling him that his clothes was buried in rubble, when the ceiling of the throne room collapsed. He slammed his fist against the wall in anger, but Sonya assured him that he can switch to a job class to put some clothes on. He walked to where the job research facility is, in order to use one of the job classes as a means of putting clothes on.

"Huh, I guess he's like me when I first became a Scrubber" Siegfried remarked.

"Just... don't rub it in" Eric said.
