Y/n sighed as they took off their apron and hung it up. They grabbed their belongings before walking out to head home.
As they walked down the sidewalk, they stopped when they heard a sound behind them. They turned their head and looked behind them, but saw nothing.
Y/n simply sighed before walking home, a bit of a fast pace due to the nervousness of the chance of being watched.
They were quick to lock the door as soon as they entered their home. Yet, the feeling of being watched didn't shake off. It made them worried.
As Y/n went to take a shower, they didn't hear the sounds of their door slowly being unlocked. Nor did they hear the sound of the door being opened. The sound of the shower blocked all noise.
After a while, they walked out wearing f/c pajamas. They paused as they heard a clattering sound from their kitchen. "What was that?.." Y/n muttered before they slowly made their way to the kitchen.
Y/n let out a slight gasp as they saw a tallish man with black hair that went to his shoulders. His eyelids were completely burnt off and a large grin was engraved on his mouth. He was eating a bag of chips Y/n recently bought. The man must've noticed the gasp because he immediately glanced at Y/n. Y/n felt panic set in and they began to scream.
The man was quick to jump off the counter and cover Y/n's mouth, pressing them on the wall. "Shut the fuck up before your neighbors hear." He spoke. Y/n froze a little but nodded, still terrified.
The man sighed before backing off. "Who are you? What are you doing in my house?" Y/n asked. Their voice was laced with fear.
The man only simply handed Y/n a photo. Y/n looked down at the photo and stared in shock.
"Jeffery.." Y/n muttered as they saw their childhood friend in the photo, who had supposedly died.
"Just call me Jeff." The man said.
Y/n felt tears form. "I-.. I thought you were dead.." They spoke as they looked at Jeff.
"That's what a lot of people believed." Jeff muttered.
"How did you even get in here?" Y/n asked, causing Jeff to freeze for a moment.
"Uh.. that's a question for another time." Jeff chuckled, before yelping as Y/n hugged him tight. He stood there in shock. It's been years since he's gotten a hug like this. He could hear Y/n crying as they hugged him.
"I can't believe I let my parents trick me into thinking you were dead.." Y/n muttered as they wiped away their tears.
"Well, a lot of people just assumed I was either dead or wanted." Jeff spoke. "Can't say the second one was wrong." Jeff looked down and saw Y/n was almost fully calm. "What have you been up to?" He asked as if he didn't already know.
Y/n sighed and sat on a stool they had. "I was on autopilot the rest of high school.. Although I did pick up photography and decided to major in it. I moved in here last year. Other than that, that's it."
"You're into photography?" Jeff asked.
"Yeah, would you like to see a few photos I took recently?" Y/n asked.
"Sure." Jeff said before Y/n dragged him to their bedroom and dug through a backpack before taking out a photo album.
Y/n and Jeff sat down before Y/n handed Jeff the photo album. Jeff looked through it, seeing a lot of photos that were mainly of random animals or people. Jeff wasn't really into photography, but he was curious enough to see the work of his childhood friend.
Before he knew it, Jeff had reached the end of the book. "Oh-" He began to say before looking up to see Y/n fast asleep. Jeff sighed before placing the album into the backpack.
As Jeff got up, he noticed a polaroid camera on Y/n's dresser.
.
Y/n woke up as the sun spread throughout their room. They groaned as they sat up. Wasn't there someone with them before they fell asleep? Or was that a dream?
They noticed a polaroid photo near them on their bed. They picked it up and nearly felt their heart drop before they realized what it was.
Jeff held up his hand to show his middle finger as he had a big(ger) grin on his face. Y/n sighed as they stared at the photo. They turned it over and saw a note.
"I'll visit again when I can. Also, you need new locks. Sorry" The note read.
Y/n chuckled a little as they sighed. They had a feeling it wasn't all a dream. They were kind of glad to know it was real.
