It was pouring rain outside

It was pouring rain outside. It pitter-pattered loudly on the roof above them. You observed as the people outside rushed inside the restaurant you and Robin were in for shelter, closing their umbrellas and taking a seat.

Today you and Robin were on a date. You two came unprepared because neither of you had an umbrella. Subtle rock music filled the room as you and Robin had a dumb conversation.

You glanced outside, noticing the puddles becoming bottomless as time passed. Then, you check the watch on your wrist. It was getting late, so you had to go at some point.

"Shit, I think we should go. It's 8 PM," Robin mentioned, getting out of his seat and pushing the chair in.

"How are we supposed to get home? We don't have any jackets or an umbrella," You asked, grabbing his jacket and handing it to him.

Robin shrugs. "We can run."

"It's a fifteen-minute walk."

"We'll get home faster if we run fast enough."

Pursing your lips, you take your chair out and sit. "We can wait it out," you suggested.

"The rain won't stop anytime soon. We have to get home," Robin replied. "Besides, we can go to your house since it's closer. Also, I can sleep over." It did seem like a great plan at first.

"But we'll get sick if we get too wet," you slipped your hands into your coat pocket.

"So? Let's go, Y/n," Robin grabbed you out of your seat and dragged you outside.

You stopped the moment you got out of the door. The rain was getting worse. At least there wasn't lightning. You felt a hand intertwine with yours as you looked at Robin. He put on a brave smile before you took a deep breath.

"One, two, three!"

The two of you rushed as fast as you could to your house. You stopped under a tree minutes later for shelter and a break.

The rain poured on you guys. The tree barely helped; you and Robin were drenched to the skin. You let out a laugh of relief before staring at Robin. He squeezed the water out of his soaked bandana.

You noticed the dirt under your feet became muddy as you lifted your shoes in disgust. Great, they're ruined.

"God, Robin. Look what you did!" You scolded. You were dripping wet; the rain soaked through your clothes.

"Come on, we're almost there," Robin mentioned, stuffing his bandana in his pocket. He grabbed your hand again as you two bolted down the street.

As you inched closer to your house, you were suddenly dragged down onto the sidewalk. You crashed down on the pavement. "Ow," you mumbled, rubbing your head. You looked to Robin, who gave you a warm smile.

"Sorry. I slipped," he apologized, bringing you up. You laughed as you and Robin jogged to your house.

You finally arrived at your home. Nervously ringing your doorbell, your guardian angrily opened the door.

"Y/n, why are you here so late? And why are you soaked— oh. Robin," they greeted, rubbing their neck embarrassingly.

"I'm sorry. We didn't bring an umbrella, so we ran here," you murmured, still out of breath from running.

"Well, get inside," your guardian invited.

You ran upstairs as Robin followed. You immediately grabbed a change of clothes before going inside the bathroom. You were shivering from the cold rain.

As you walked out, you noticed Robin was already changed.

"How did you—"

"I left some clothes here from our last sleepover, remember?" Robin reminded, slumping down on your bed. He got up and walked to your TV, turning it on and flipping through the channels.

You handed him a towel as you dried your hair with your own. Robin stopped at Jaws, one of his favorite movies. He returned to your bed, his hair still messy after drying it.

You chuckled at him as you lay down beside him. "What?" He questioned, scooting closer to you. You didn't reply as you run your hand through his hair, fixing it.

Silence filled the room. The only sounds that could be heard were from the TV. You leaned on Robin's shoulder.

"You're the only person I would do that with," You commented. Your eyes were glued to the television screen.

"Do what?"

"Run in the rain. I'll only do that for you," you mumbled, hitting him playfully. He let out a chuckle before wrapping his arms around you. A few moments later, you two drifted off to sleep comfortably.

You woke up the next morning feeling awful. You were freezing, and your nose was stuffed. It was because you stayed out in the rain too long. You turned to Robin, who was coughing and sniffling loudly.

"Ugh, this is your fault," You said groggily as Robin lay beside you and snuggled under the blanket.

"Whatever."
