SUMMER OFTEN FOUND herself attaching to everything; movies, boys, friends. She held onto the people in her life until breaking point - until either they cut her out of their life, or she finally gave up. Summer didn't give up often though.

After being taken from her mum at such a young age, she seemed to grasp onto the people in her life. She was just a hurt little girl at the end of the day.

The person she held onto the most was Pheobe Bell; her best friend since Year Seven. The girls had been friends for that long that they were basically sisters. They argued like sisters, they made up like sisters and they loved each other like sisters. If anyone was her soulmate, Summer thought it would be Pheobe.

Summer walked into the school yard, arm in arm with Pheobe. The two girls were laughing way too hard for the first day back to school.

"Your brother is my man, I don't care!" Pheobe said with a laugh, finding it amusing.

"Stop!" Summer exclaimed in disgust, cupping her hands over her ears. "I'm not listening to you!"

She had been to busy shouting to notice she had walked into Amerie, who was with Missy and Sasha.

Once she knew it was her, she wrapped her arms around the girl. "Ams, long time no see."

Amerie grinned, hugging her back. "Missed my little cutie," They pulled away with grins on their faces.

"Who's that?" Missy questioned, causing them to look over what she was looking at.

A boy stood cluelessly. He was definitely because Summer had no idea who he was; she knew every single hot guy to grace Hartley High, her hallway crushes had began since she started at the school. They were just meaningless crushes though, she just appreciated their attraction.

The new kid was definitely attractive; his olive skin, his dark hair and he just had this cuteness to him.

"Oh, fresh blood."

"Handsome."

The others had walked off while Summer stood, still staring at him. He had looked forward and their eyes met.

The new boy seemed mesmerised by her, his brown eyes practically staring into her soul.

She sent him a small smile and he smiled awkwardly back.

Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped themselves around her waist and lifted her up, causing her to let out yell in surprise.

Zach let out a laugh as he placed her back down on the ground. He pulled her into his chest. "I missed you too much."

She giggled as she looked up at him. "Missed you too, Zach."

Summer was really into Zach - of course she was. As was the entire population of Hartley. He had seemingly dropped his man whore ways to commit to her. Her friends were skeptical of his new change, but she was just head over heels for him.
