"Miss, may balak ka bang magpakamatay?!" the man asked in a raging yet worried tone because he almost hit the woman, if he hadn't been quick enough to stop his motor.
He helped her stand up, "I-im sorry..." she immediately apologized and shyly looked at him.
His furious face instantly softened when he saw her face. She looked so innocent, with a serene face that made his lips part in amusement.
Pagkaganda naman nito— thought.
"I'm...I'm just new here—I don't know this place. I came from the province. My parents disowned and shoved me away. I was just too preoccupied that I don't know where to go. I don't even have money with me and I need a job..." she explained, biting her lower lip because what she said was nothing but a pure lie.
She was an only child and the only heiress of their family but she escaped from her parents when they told her she was going to marry someone she didn't even know and only for business. She hated that idea! She believed that marriage was one of the most important things that would happen in her life because she would finally marry the one she loved. The man who would be the father of her future children, and the one she would live with for the rest of her life.
It's her mother's fault why she values marriage so much because her mother fed her romantic and fairy tale stories when she was young.
That's why she escaped her parents and went to try her luck in meeting someone she would fall in love with and instantly marry before her parents found her. Hopefully.
The man was just staring at her while his lips tugging up upon seeing her bangs being blown by the wind.
Kyut.
"I really need a job, Mister, and I'm homeless now. A-and, I don't like to lie here in the road like those beggars I saw around the corner of the street. My gosh, I can't imagine myself opening my palm and asking for money from people so I can buy food because I feel hungry and no longer have something to eat," she said in her panicked voice.
Agad namang nawala ang ngiti niya nang bigla na naman itong magsalita ng Ingles. Her accent almost made his ears bleed.
"Kailangan mo ng trabaho ba kamo?" Of all the things she said, that's the only thing he heard clearly. Not because he couldn't understand English, but her foreign accent was literally different, and aside from that, her beauty, her beauty tied his tongue and that's new.
Damn, he is Aga— the sunshine of every woman in this world. Why this? Who is she?
She's just someone he almost hit.
"Y-yes..." she muttered as her cheeks blushed, fighting the urge to ask him for help.
"Ah ganun ba? May sarili akong restaurant sa gedli pero hindi siya ganun kalaki ngunit malakas na din ang kita at nangangailangan ako ng dishwasher—" he was cut off when the woman suddenly jumped for joy.
"Of course, I can do that! Oh my God! I know how to wash plates, it's by using a yellow sponge and wiping the plate, right?! Right?!" she excitedly said, kaya napanganga na lang ang lalaki sa kanya.
"Oo, dishwasher, iyong mag huhugas ng plato—pero teka nga, teka nga." Napakamot siya sa ulo dahil hindi niya na maintindihan ang nangyayari sa kanila because first of all, he almost hit the girl, but the girl doesn't want to die because she is only preoccupied since her parents shoved her away.
