CHAPTER 17: Painful Reunion

Third Person's Perspective

A few minutes earlier

While Luz was talking to Amity

Viney was hiding all the guards they knocked out, not leaving a single one from the scene. She was done hiding them and now waiting for Luz to come back.

What she didn't know is that someone from the castle spotted her, hiding the guards. It was another green haired girl but older than the youngest Blight.

It was Emira Blight.

Her eyes were widened as tears drops from her eyes.

The green haired girl was speechless as her face gave the expression of shock and joy. Mumbling a few words before calling out one name

"Viney?"

She couldn't believe it, the girl she thought that was dead. The girl she tried to forget for years is here "Viney?" The girl managed to choke out, her tears doesn't stop from flowing.

After just watching her from her window, she decided to run out from the castle. She was desperate on wanting see her once again, do something, anything, just to reunite with her. Her breathing was quick, almost on the verge of hyperventilating but she didn't mind it or even the guards that was trying to stop her. Her mind was just focused on one thing

That is to meet her supposedly dead lover

Emira was now outside of the castle, but the vampire she was looking for was no where to be found from her surroundings even though she came in a flash, using her vampire speed.

"Viney?" She called out, her eyes wondering around to find the vampire she's been looking for "Viney!"

She was now crying, placing her hand at her chest. She was feeling something. Something that she had felt many times

Pain

Her mind was full of questions. Questions that only her vampire lover can answer.

"Viney!" She called out once again, but no one answered, only the echoing sound of her voice can be heard "Viney!"

Emira can't take it anymore, her legs gave out as her head began to ache "Viney" She murmured, before a wave of pain was shot through her head

She placed her hands on her head, trying to get rid of the pain but no to vail. Edric immediately came like he just teleported to where her sister is, with a worried look plastered in his face

"Emira!" He called out, immediately running towards her sister "Why are you outside?! You know that it's not good for you!" He held her sister, slightly lifting her from the ground "We told you not to go outside by yourself. You got me worried there Em"

"I... I saw her" The eldest Blight stammered as her eyes became glossy

"Saw who?" Edric asked, his face giving a concerned expression "What are you talking about?"

"....Viney!" She continued which made Edric widened in surprise before turning into a worried look "She's alive! I saw her"

"Viney? Em, Viney is dead" Edric replied, feeling a pang of pain in his heart as he uttered those words "We both saw how she got executed four years ago along with—" He stopped, remembering the day that both of them lost someone dear to them "—Along with Jerbo and Barkus. It's impossible for you to see her-"

"No, I swear Ed! I saw her, she was here—I saw her. Please Ed.... Believe me" Her sister begged, with tears that were threatening to spill from her eyes finally poured

Edric slightly looked away before carrying his sister bridal style "I'm gonna take you back to your room" Edric said before leaving in a flash

After the both of them left, a figure stepped out from behind the tree, her eyes filled with pain and sorrow as she stares at the place where the eldest Blight once stood

It was Viney.

Before Emira could come to her, she already felt her presence and managed to hide behind the tree in time. She just watched Emira calling for her from afar while keeping herself from seeing her.

Her eyes were now filled with tears, remembering her lover's voice calling for her. Even though she wanted to touch her, and talk to her she can't. She thought that for now, it's better to just know that she's doing okay.

She cried, clenching her fist as she questions herself

"How long will I have to do this?! How long will I have to endure it?!" Viney asked in her thoughts

"I'm sorry Emira" She cried "I'm sorry for being so weak"

She leaned against the tree beside her before sliding down as she hugged her legs to her chest

"Was that the girl you told me about?" A familiar voice spoke which made Viney jump in surprise.

She turned beside her, noticing that it was just Willow "Willow! W-what are you doing here? How did you find out about the secret passage?" Viney asked, immediately wiping her tears

"It wasn't hard to find you since the two of you just entered a few minutes ago" Willow replied

"Oh, where's Gus and that pink haired girl? I thought you were supposed to watch her?" Viney asked

"I got worried because you guys haven't come back, so I tied the vampire with my vines and let Gus guard her for me" Willow replied, with a soft smile before it turned into a hint of concern "I'm sorry, I think I wasn't supposed to see nor hear all that"

Viney looked over to Willow for a moment before giving a chuckle "So, how much did you saw?"

"I—......I saw everything, sorry" Willow replied, while rubbing the back of her head "I was supposed to find you and Luz but instead I found that girl come here. I'm really sorry for listening"

"No, it's fine. It wasn't your fault if you accidentally listened to all that" Viney smiled

"So, was that the girl you told me about?" She asked

Viney chuckled "Yeah"

"She looks beautiful, is she a royal?" Willow asked

"She is" Viney smiled, which made Willow give her a sympathetic look "I looked pathetic earlier, don't I?"

"No, you don't" Willow disagreed

"You don't have to lie to me Willow" Viney smiled

"Why didn't you show yourself? you know, earlier? You seem to want to hug and reach her but I saw you stopping yourself from doing it. I can see that she loves you, and she really wants to see you. Same goes for you too" Willow asked

"I would if I could, but I can't"

"Why?"

"Because if I did, she'll die"
