(Jimmy jr POV💪) I sprinted to my car in the midst of the bitter snow, it had been a hard day at the office and all i wanted was to get home. All day I had been badgered by coworkers to help file papers, gotten hit on by an older, (judging by the ring on her finger) married college which i had no interest in; and worst of all....refused a raise by my boss. I'm a hard worker and a team player, did I really deserve to be spit on in my work environment? As i hopped in my car, finally being relived from the cold i started my car as the engine began sputtering....it sputtered...and sputtered...but wouldn't start, my car wouldn't start. Getting my car towed would be a stretch and my old Honda surely wasn't going anywhere tonight; i had no choice but to call my girlfriend...tina. Not wanting to seem like a wimp in front of her I was hesitant but I honestly had no choice, she was the only one who was remotely reliable. Zeke was probably out drinking and calling Tammy or Jocelyn would be a waste of my night. Drowning in defeat I punched in the digits of her phone number into my key pads, secretly hoping she didn't answer so I could just pretend nothing happened and call a cab...but to my luck two rings in she picked up. "Hey honey, what do you need?" A sweet voice said to me through the screen. "Hey tina...it isn't much of a big deal but my car won't start....could you come pick me up?" I sighed, already feeling a bit less masculine. "Oh no, of course I will Jimmy! I'll be there in ten minutes babe, hang tight" she hung up the phone after making a smooching sound, who knew kisses through the phone could make me so flustered. The whole time I was waiting all I
could think about was how lucky i am to have a girlfriend as sweet as Tina, i was practically coveting a spot in her arms tonight.
A black Ford parallel parked in front of me and out came Tina, running up to my window and knocking on it profusely "cold?" A muffled voice giggled at me through the glass window. "Yes a bit" I snickered as I opened the car door and embraced Tina into my arms, she dug her face into my chest and wrapped one of her legs around me. "I missed you too!" I laughed, earning a disapproving hum from the raven haired girl. "Come on let's go home, it's freezing out here Jimmy!" She huffed, releasing herself from my grasp and heading towards the car. "Okay okay, are you Making Dinner?" I asked; they didn't allow us lunch breaks at work so I always came home hungry. "I was thinking of just ordering pizza, is that okay with you honey?" Tina asked, cocking her head. "Yeah that's fine with me, as long as you get garlic bread too." I winked as I climbed into the passenger seat of her black ford escape; her car had always been way nicer than mine, considering Tina's job was higher paying than mine. At first the fact she was more comfortable bothered me but it honestly became nice; having her help with rent and occasionally pay for groceries became more of a luxury than a point of insecurity. The car ride home was mostly quiet except for occasional hums from Tina going along with the radio and the exchange of small lovesick glances + the constant interlocked state of our hands. As we approached the paved driveway I felt my heart flutter, I haven't been able to have a night alone with tina in over a week because of work and frankly it made me nervous having a whole evening alone; every time we sit down on the couch together suddenly I'm a flustered lisping teenager trying to muster up the courage to wrap my arm around Tina-"Baby, are you coming?" a soft sweet voice asked as I snapped out of my own thoughts "oh yeah, can you order the pizza" "already did ;)"
I held her hand as we talk through the snow and ice of our driveway, our house was nice but knowing who lived in it made it so much nicer. A warmth hit me as soon as I walked in the door, I was overtook by the smells of peppermint and the sound of soft music; the lights were dimmed and the couch had extra blankets on it. "Tina..did you set all of this up for me?" I asked in disbelief, I had never seen our home look so ... welcoming and comfortable. "Yes of course honey. I was assuming you had had a hard day at work and I wanted to give you a space to relax when you got home" she quietly spoke with a smile on her face, i don't think I had ever met someone so thoughtful. "Thank you so much, I love you." I whispered, beginning to wrap my arms around her and bringing my face closer to hers. "I love you more." She whispered into my ear before connecting our lips. The kiss was long and sweet, taking a breath for air we moved to the couch and continued kissing; Tina often had a habit of cupping my face and petting my hair as we kissed, it was her way of showing she was content with the affection. This led on for about 10 minutes and as I was going to- DING! the doorbell rung, ear piercingly loud. Tina giggled as she shifted away,
I guess the pizzas here :).
