The sounds of keys echoed dangling through the long, narrow hallway.
As the sound drops of water splash on the cement floor.

As each step got louder and louder

" alright boys! chowd time"officer Peter smash the release button opening up all the inmates cells
" hey, Jeffery?" My cell mate wave at me getting my attention  " dinner.." not hungry, i signaled him off.
I  mean who would be hungry when your fighting a Rico case? Would you..

I paced my cell counting down my time " spider" I carved into my wall thinking of her.

Oh how I miss you, Mariah .

The days went by fast and the nights went by slow, at the pace we're going I lost hope.

Ugh! If only I could find my heels life would be great,
I paced my room looking high and low for my red bottoms.

" andddd your late!" I rush into the building hearing
My boss, mr Helton smi yelled licking the coffee residue off his lip, and your in my business once again I mumbled walking back to my desk.

" the early bird gets the worm and... the late bird gets a new case" my friend Jane, said
Aw fuck you I snatched it away from her reading the new file
" hmm.." she raise a eyebrow hovering over me
" new case?" I look up confused what about the brown vs lanez case?

" oh, girl we been solved that you would know if you were here" she took a sip from her coffee cup.

" Helton said he want this case solved in 10 days"  she mouth walking off what? I raise my voice going over to his office

10 days are you serious Helton? I folded my arms  slamming the file onto his desk
in defense mode.

" I'm very serious "  that's not even enough time to see who I'm dealing with let alone solving a whole MURDER case!

" what's so hard about taking a gang down? You know you good for that" he mumbled the last part raising a eyebrow

Helton, I can't I literally don't know where too start or where to go and usually I do.

" is the cookie too hard to crumble?" He mock
walking over towards me.

" look, karlee I put you on this case for a reason I have faith in you work your magic " he pat my back pushing me out his office

" your timer starts NOW!" He yelled across the building..
10 days? 10 literal days I slouch across my desk
