Padfoot crossed his arms, eyes narrowing. "Now, would anyone like to explain exactly what happened?"

Severus glanced over at Sirius, who shrugged. "Where would you like us to begin?"

"The beginning would be nice," another auror said, pulling out a quill and parchment.

"Which beginning?" Sirius asked, pulling up a chair. "Because seven months ago, we locked you in the ministry of magic."

"And it was over a year ago since I became headmaster, which we could consider a beginning," the potions master said, smirking. He pulled Dora over to the chair Sirius provided. "Or we could begin two years ago when she and I started dating."

"Or we could go back to the very beginning when we time-traveled seven years into the past," Draco said, conjuring a glass of water and handing it over to his cousin.

"Or we could go to the beginning of this conversation to explain why I'm suddenly being pampered," Dora said, brow quirked.

"One word: pregnant," Sirius said.

"Another word: battle," Severus added, eyes narrowing.

"Can we back up a bit?" Padfoot asked, eyes widening. "Let's just start at the beginning of the day."

"Eh, I would like to know a bit about the ministry fiasco," the other auror said, raising a hand.

Before they could begin, Pansy and Regulus flounced over, two very angry children in their arms. "Now that the battle's over," Regulus handed Teddy to Remus, "they are your problem."

"Siria refused a nap," Pansy added, handing the girl over to her father. "She's very grumpy." She turned and looped her arm with Regulus's.

"Wait!" Severus's brow furrowed. "Where do you think you're going?"

"Out for a pint," Regulus threw behind him. "Babysitting in the middle of a battle is stressful."

Pansy smiled up at the younger Black brother. "Do you think Hogsmeade is open?"

"Knowing Aberforth, I know at least one tavern is available."

The two aurors stared, jaws dropping. "Did Snape decide to test out his cloning theory on Sirius?"

"No, that's my little brother," the deputy headmaster said, shaking his head. "He's supposed to be dead, but he's not." He shifted Siria in his arms.

"You know what?" Auror Padfoot pointed to the retreating Regulus. "Why don't we start there?"

"Well," Luna said, apparating in. "Regulus went to destroy a Horcrux back in Summer 1981-the same year the Potters died, actually-but got stuck in a tiny trap Voldemort made. While drowning, he swallowed some water, which had a preservation spell on it, and he survived in a state of homeostasis until last year when Dumbledore, Sirius, and Harry went to the exact same cave in search of said Horcrux. They brought back his body to bury, but he revived and now he acts as the crew's babysitter."

"Uh, I may have a few more questions," the second auror said, putting the quill to his mouth.

"Truly, if you could not follow that fairly simple explanation, I worry about the state of our magical law enforcement," Severus said, rubbing his eyes. "He survived because the water he was submerged in kept him alive." He glared at the two aurors. "Does that make sense now, or do I need to use smaller words?"
