Auryon had gotten up earlier than normal since she was excited, she wouldn't let it show though. Over the years Auryon became more cold than when she was little, she didn't really want anyone to get to know her.
She didn't trust anyone really, well... she never trusted anyone to begin with. Somehow, Bodhi was the only one to slip through so far and befriend her. Bodhi had offered to escort Auryon to Hexside, but she denied. She wanted to do this alone.
Auryon had said goodbye to Hunter and Bodhi before she set off. Bodhi had given Auryon his old messenger bag, as he had gotten a new one. Usually your nerves would be all over the place on the first day of school. Surprisingly, Auryon was calm, too calm. She has no idea what's in store for her.
All dressed up in her Illusions track uniform, Auryon arrived to Hexside. Pipsqueak on her shoulder, and Draco laying across her bag.
"I remember this place all too well,"Draco hissed,"those were fun memories."
Once it was time for class Auryon sat in front of two green haired kids at an empty desk. They were making jokes and laughing while the teacher taught. Auryon sighs, hoping the two would shut up.
One of the kids taps on Auryon's shoulder,"Hey new kid, what's your name? I'm Emira and this is Edric."
Auryon turns around to look at them,"Auryon,"she says blankly, before turning to face the teacher again.
"So Auryon, Why are you in Illusions,"Edric asks.
"Need more skill in this area."
"Woah, what are you? Some type of soldier,"Edric jokes.
"No... I'm just good at everything else,"Auryon gives them a mean look,"I'm trying to learn. Can you stop talking."
The twins back off and wait for lunch to go bug Auryon. They see her sitting at a table by herself. Edric and Emira walk over and sit on either sides of her.
"Hey, you look lonely. Wanna be our friend,"Emira asks.
"I don't have friends,"Auryon answered.
"Well... you have us now! We'll be your first friends here at Hexside,"Edric wraps an arm around Auryon, making a big gesture.
"So Auryon, what's your favourite type of magic,"Emira inquires.
"I'm good at all of them but Illusion is more interesting. Not to fond of construction magic though,"Auryon replied.
The three 'talked', more like the twins asked questions and Auryon answered them, for the rest of lunch and then they headed to their next class. By the end of the day, Auryon had somehow let 2 random people slip past her barrier and now has to call them friends.
During class, the twins passed Auryon a note. It read:
"Hey, wanna meet us after school on the Knee? We were going to practice our magic there. We heard it's the best place to practice new skills."
Auryon scribbled on another piece of paper,"Sure," and passed it back to the twins.
They do a quiet celebration and high five, before passing another note:
"Cool! Cant wait."
Auryon folded the paper up and stuffed it in her bag. She looked to Draco sitting on her lap and he gave a nod of approval. This was something her father would have wanted her to do. Aurelius would love that she would be sneaking away from the Castle to go meet friends and have 'fun'. Although, Auryon would really just see it as practice.
After school had ended, Auryon started heading back to the castle. Halfway there, something moved in the bushes. Auryon sent off a spark of magic towards the bushes.
"Hey! Owwwww,"It was Bodhi. He emerged from behind the bushes and walked over to Auryon.
"What are you doing,"Auryon asked blankly.
"I came to walk home with you. I wanted to hear about your day."
"These two kids in my classes invited me to practice magic with them at the Knee later. So I'm going,"Auryon stated,"Oh and we ate lunch together before that."
"So you made some friends,"Bodhi chimes.
"Is that what they are? Then I guess so,"Auryon continues walking back.
"Yes Aur, you just made friends. Congratulations,"Bodhi uses illusions to make fake confetti, as if he had thrown it in the air.
"I'm going to leave after I put my things away. Before you left, was Hunter doing anything,"She asks.
"Uhhhh...I think he had just gotten back from collecting palistrom wood. Why?"
"I want to say hi. He's my brother so I can say hi when I want. Do I need a reason,"Auryon glares at Bodhi.
"No no. I was just curious. Of course you don't need a reason. Sorry I asked,"Bodhi rubs the side of his arm as the two continue walking.
Bodhi wondered why Auryon had grown colder to him. They used to have so much fun a couple years ago. He couldn't even imagine what had could've happened to cause this. Was it after a mission she went on?
He didn't like this Auryon. He missed the happy, carefree Auryon. The Auryon that would beg to go on 'missions' with Bodhi so they could 'train'. The Auryon who always said what was on her mind. Bodhi missed the enthusiastic Auryon he knew when they were kids.
He looked over to Auryon and sighed,"What happened to you?"
"Nothing."
"I'm serious. You changed Aur,"Bodhi insisted.
"If I haven't told you already. I'm telling you now to not to get too close to me."
"It's a Little late for that Auryon! What about the last few years, huh? Did that mean anything to you?"
"You were my teacher. You helped me train,"Auryon had forgotten most of what they did.
"Fine. Forget it. Sorry I asked,"Bodhi walked ahead into the castle, giving distance between them.
Auryon was confused but she shook it off, and went to go find Hunter. She though that he would love to hear about what she did at school. Hunter loved learning about magic. And Auryon felt a little bit guilty that she was given hers, while Hunter could only learn about it. Well... unless he had his staff.
