~Ali~

Monday was a weird day.

My friends were supportive except Rose. She was furious because of Jared. Smith, Alex, Rainy, Bella, and Trixie stayed close by supportively, and physically.

Rainy had to babysit and Alex stayed home with Bella because she caught a stomach bug and was puking all night, so they weren't at the party, but they were being just as supportive.

I was especially grateful to Smith and Trixie. I was grateful Trixie believed me and Smith had pointed out evidence to bring down Thomas and Jared.

So today, lunch was quiet and everyone was looking at us. Some people asked if I was okay and said sorry to Trixie and Rose for their boyfriends.

I was extremely nervous for ELA though.

When I walk in I see Oliver at our table, flipping through a book. "Hey" I say softly, sitting down next to him.

"How are you doing?" he asks. "Fine." I sigh and rub my face. "The teacher said we had to read if our Essay was done" Oliver hands me a book and returns to his.

Why is he brushing me off like this? I think. I don't really read the book, but I think a lot.

Recently, I've been thinking about my dream. I have always wanted to do something challenging and unique. Traveling to New York before I turned 18 had always been it. However, I had to do it by car so I could sight see.

I look up suddenly. I work through math in my head and urgently put my hand on Oliver's to grab his attention.

"I have an idea," I say excitedly. "What?" he asks. "You know how at the party you asked me how I was going to achieve my dream?" I say. He nods slowly, confused.

"And you know how you're afraid that you'll never get out of here!?" I say this a bit more quietly, but just as urgent. Oliver nods again.

"I will pay you $10,000 to take me across the county to New York and back by the end of the summer. That way you can pay for college, and I get to go to New York" I explain.

Oliver looks at me with his mouth open. "Are you insane!?" he asks after a minute. "I have $20,000 saved up from working, I'll give you half for college" I say.

The bell rings then. "Text me tonight" I say and quickly walk out, chewing on my lip. I'm so excited and nervous I can barely hold myself from screaming happily at my idea.

---

Later that night I pace my room anxiously as I wait for Oliver to text me. I don't know what he'll say but my offer is perfect for him. If he'll only say yes, we'll both get what we want! Finally my phone buzzes. Meet me at Feather Cafe Oliver texted. I grab my keys and nervously, but excitedly head over.
