Dottore and Capitano stop at the back of the reception, drinking out the champagne bottle he took. Neither of them could get drunk, so they didn't have to worry about acting like fools before the actual wedding.
This was one of the rare times were the two of them weren't hostile towards each other, and they both wanted it to stay that way.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
The doctor shook his head and took another swing of the bottle. Capitano understood though, he knew what he was feeling. He too, experienced what Dottore was feeling, he wasn't the only one who could see the strings.
He knew Dottore's sting was attached to the woman upstairs, he noticed the pain Dottore had on his face.
"The bottles' fucking empty." Dottore hissed.
"I'll call for another server."
"Fine."
Capitano called over another server, taking the bottle that server had. They left after he replaced his empty glass. Dottore popped the cork, chugging the bottle until he couldn't handle it anymore.
"I'm thinking of stopping the wedding."
"Oh." Capitano froze. "Wait what?"
Dottore refused to look at the surprised man. He shrugged. "I said what I said."
The fourth harbinger didn't know how to react. Dottore? Stopping a wedding? It fit his personality, but he didn't expect it to be Y/n's wedding.
"I see."
The doctor stared at the half-empty champagne bottle, wishing the alcohol would get him drunk and kill him. He knew that couldn't happen.
His past self made sure of that.
Fuck.
The people in the hall started to file out, signaling the wedding was about to start.
Capitano put his hand on Dottore's shoulder, catching his attention quickly. He ignored the cold aura that formed and pointed at the doors.
"It's starting, Dottore." He paused. "Good luck."
He left the sorrow-filled doctor alone.
