-Amys POV-

I worried about Zayn. He obviously didn’t like Dave for some reason, and now we find out he’s had a thing for me all along! I hope Zayn doesn’t act too put off by Dave. I have no idea how I’ll deal with that whole situation when I get back to my body. If I get back…What if I don’t? What if Zayn and I are stuck this way forever? It’s already been four days, and we haven’t changed at all. I don’t even know how we are going to figure out how to get back to normal.

“Zayn! Ready?” Liam asked
We were doing sound check for our last night in Ireland and I was eager to leave for Leeds.
“Yeah!” I said and started at my cue. I was really enjoying performing. It was a lot of fun. I mean sure, I would prefer hot guys throwing themselves at me instead of teenage girls, but still, it was nice to sing in front of an audience that thought I was good.
I guess that wasn’t very fair, they thought Zayn was good, not me. Either way, it was nice to be able to sing in front of people and not be embarrassed. I felt his phone buzz and I took it out as Liam started his solo for Little Things. It was a text from his mum.

Mum: Call when you get a chance. It’s been a few days since we’ve talked. I miss you, sweetie.

Me: Alright, I’ll call after sound check.

We finished after a while and I excused myself, saying I was going to call my mum. The guys understood. Louis decided to do the same. I went and found a vacant room and called Zayn first.
“Hello?” he answered in a hushed voice
“Are you working?” I asked
“Yeah, what is going on?”
“Your mum wants me to call her, how do I act?”
“Like you love her and miss her with all your heart. Tell her about what’s been going on, leave out any drinking. Leave out that your coming to Leeds, she’ll want to see you, and I don’t want you to have to meet her as being me. She’ll be able to tell something is off,”
“Okay, anything else I should know?”
“I’m a mama’s boy, so just act like one and you should be okay,”
“Alright. Get back to work. I’ll let you know how it goes,”

We hung up and I called her.
“Hi baby,” she answered sounding sad. I bet it must be hard not being able to see her son very often.
“Hi mum. How are you?” I asked, trying to talk to her like I would talk to my mother.
“Don’t mind me. How are you? Are you eating well? Are you getting enough sleep? How are your ears, you know I don’t like how loud your concerts are,”
“Everything is fine with me, mum. I promise. How is the family?”
“They are good. They’re all good. We are looking forward to seeing you when you come to Leeds and have a break,”
“Oh, uh…yeah. Yeah, I’m excited too,” I replied. Crap! How did she know?!
“How are you and Perrie doing?” she asked
“Oh fine, just fine. She’s great. I mean, not as great as you, but pretty close,” I said trying to act as mama-boy as possible. It seemed to work because she chuckled and said, “And don’t you forget it!”
I felt bad, this woman really missed her son. I’m sure Zayn really missed her as well. It got me thinking of how I missed my mum.
“I love you. And I miss you,” I told her sadly.
“I love and miss you too,” she was chocking up, but trying to hide it.
“Don’t cry, mum, you’ll see me soon enough!” I said knowing Zayn wouldn’t like this at all.
“I know. It’s just been so long is all,” she said taking a rattled breathe.
“I’ll come see you Sunday, okay? How does that sound?”
“Like a treat,” and I could hear her smile, causing me to smile and well up.
“Love you mum. I should get going,”
“Love you too, dear. See you soon,”
We hung up and I walked back to the other guys.

          “How’s she doing?” Liam asked
“Good,” I said taking a seat next to him
“Did she cry again?”
“Yeah,”
“Are yeh leavin us to stay with your family when we get to Leeds?” Niall asked
“Yeah. It’ll be nice to get back to Bradford,” I said truthfully.
“It’s only three days, but it’s something,” Liam said with a smile.
“Hey guys, you wanna play a prank on Louis while he’s still away?” Harry asked with a devilish smile
“What do you have in mind?” I asked
“Paul, Lou, come over here!” Harry called, and they came over with Lux, interrupting the conversation they were having.
“Would you help us prank Louis?” Harry asked
“Depends, what do you have in mind?” asked Paul suspiciously
“We’ll just all go in the next room, and ask the driver to park somewhere else. Make him think we left him,”
“I don’t think so Harry,” Paul started sternly
“We’ll all still be here! If anything happens, you can still handle it! It’s just the next room, c’mon Paul, what do you say?” pleaded Harry.
“Let’s do it!” Lou said, and Lux smiled and laughed at Harry who was giving her playful smiles.
“Alright, alright,” Paul said, “Nothing for wardrobe or hair and makeup has been unpacked yet, let’s bring that too. I’ll text the driver and ask him to take a few drives around the block,” We all brought everything into a nearby storage space for spare microphones and amps and whatnot. There was enough room for all of us to hide too and no sooner had we closed the door almost all the way did we hear Louis enter.
“Hello?” he asked confused
“Where is everyone?” he said
Moments later Paul’s phone was vibrating and the caller ID showed Louis’ face. Paul stuck his phone back in his pocket and looked through the crack in the door to get a better look at the lone boy. Louis walked out of the room and came back a few moments later looking thoroughly confused. Niall’s phone buzzed, indicating a call from him, and soon, everyone in the storage room had gotten at least one call from him. When he turned his back to the door we were hiding behind, Paul stealthily sneaked out, getting closer and closer to him without him knowing.

Once he got to about a foot from Louis’ back, he screamed, and wrapped his arms around him and lifted him up in the air.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!” Louis yelled, scared shitless. “PUT ME DOWN!!! WHERES PAUL!? PUT ME DOWN!”
Paul set him down and when he turned around to see who it was the fear faded from his face to be replaced by relief.
“WHERE WERE YOU!?” Louis exclaimed
“Hidin!” Lou answered as we came walking out with the equipment we brought in with us, laughing hysterically at Louis’ scaredy pants reaction.
“I’ll get you back!” he said glaring at us.

Later that night, after the concert and hanging out with the boys some more, I went to my hotel room. Zayn wanted to talk on the phone so I got pajama’s on, crawled in bed and called him.
“How did it go talking with my mom? How is she?”
“Good. She knew you guys would be in Leeds though. And she misses you so much. She cried a little, so I told her I would come see her Sunday,”
“You what!?”
“It made her so happy!” I defended
“I’m coming too,” he said
“Good! I wouldn’t know what to do without you there! Besides, maybe Saturday we’ll get everything worked out and we won’t even have to deal with it anymore,” I said hopefully.
“Even if we do get things back to normal by then you should still come,” he offered
“Really?” I asked surprised
“Yeah, we are friends after all. Remember?”
“Yeah,” I replied with a chuckle
“How was the concert?”
“Good. I think the only thing I will miss about being you is being able to perform like that. It’s fun. Especially with the guys, they’re great too,”
“I’m eager to see them,” he said
“How were things with Dave today? Awkward after last night?”
“Awkward is an understatement. I avoided him at all costs today. It nearly made me late getting to the library,”
“How is it working there?”
“Boring. How can you do it?”
“Oh it’s not too bad,” I sugarcoated
“Right. If it wasn’t so bad then I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t have wished on that star to have a more exciting life,”
“Alright, so maybe it’s kinda slow sometimes,”
“All the time,”
“Okay, I hate it there! I love literature, but hate working at the library!”
“That sounds more reasonable,” he said approvingly
“What about you though? You wanted to know what it would be like if you didn’t make it so far on X-Factor, and now you’re living the life of someone who didn’t get past auditions. Isn’t it all you dreamed it would be?”
“I never dreamed of Dave kissing me!”
“Fair point,”
“You really don’t like him like that?”
“No, why?”
“Just making sure. There’s something I don’t like about him,”
“Dave is a nice guy. Just because he has a crush on you – me – us, haha, doesn’t mean you have to not like him,”
“It’s not because of that,”
“then what is it?”
“I don’t know…Just…don’t date him okay?”Zayn said, trying to make it not sound like an order
“You don’t have to worry about that. Especially when you’re controlling my body,”
“Damn straight!”
“But he and I are friends, so maybe talk to him and let him know that I don’t want that to change between us,”
“Of course it’ll change. It’ll change everything!”
“Only if we let it. We don’t have to,”
“That’s what all girls say before things change,”
“Oh no it’s not. Don’t over react,”
“I’m just telling you how guys think. I am one after all,”
“Yeah, sure. And how’s the period treating you, Mr. Man?”
“Shut up…” he mumbled embarrassed, making me laugh.

We sat in silence for a bit and I heard some rustling around. “Did you just get in bed, and pull the covers up to your chin?” I asked
“How’d you know?”
“Because I know the sounds of my bed and I do the exact same thing,”
“Can I admit something?” he said, sounding more tired
“Sure,”
“I’m kind of nervous to meet you. Like in person. It’s going to be weird looking at myself from someone else’s body,”
“I’m nervous about that too. It’s like it will make the whole thing more freaky than it already is,”
“Yeah,”
“So I think we should get to Leeds around 1. How about I come over at 4?” I asked
“How will you get here?”
“The van?” I suggested
“I’ll come pick you up,”
“You are a good driver right? Like you haven’t wrecked my car or anything?”
“Hey, I may not have a license or anything, but I am a great driver!”
“Why don’t I believe you?”
“Because you probably shouldn’t,”
“Oh gosh…you’re paying for anything you dent or scratch,”
“Don’t worry,” he said and I could hear a tired smile in his voice.
“Get some sleep. I’ll text you what hotel we’ll be at tomorrow when I find out. And try not to look like a fan,”
“I know, I know. How have you been treating the fans you’ve seen?”
“Pretty good. We’ve been busy so I haven’t really talked to many of them,” I said
“Alright, good. They really are incredible,”
“They’re extremely dedicated,” I said and added, “Get to sleep. I’m tired too,”
“Good night Zayn,” he said
“Good night Amy,” I replied smiling.
