A strange new feeling

The invitation

After Luffy and Zoro finished their weakly wash they decided to separate and relax Zoro going to find a comfy place to sleep and Luffy going to see if he could check something with Nami.

"Hey, Nami" Luffy called out to the orange head girl who was currently looking at the sea something she did regularly to check if the ship is on course and see if there is a sign of any storms. "What's the matter Luffy" Nami turned to her captain with her usual relaxed smile, "I was wondering how long it'll take to reach our next island," Luffy asked with a small smile "we should be there in about a day if the weather stays like this we're looking at a summer island" Nami replied with a similar smile "I hear most of these summer islands have amazing buffet restaurants" nami added hopefully to try and egg on her idiotic caption to ask Bonney to go to one with him. Luffy couldn't hide the excitement and happiness that he felt when hearing this "Thanks Nami I'll go and check one out when we get there."

After that Luffy went back to talking to his crew sharing some laughs with Ussop and Chopper and even testing out his gear 5 to see just what the limits are which allowed the mischievous captain to learn that he could change his voice to allow him to sing beautifully to the shock but happiness of Brook the musician but also made Luffy's impressions of his crew more accurate to be met by laughs by all the crew, meanwhile vegapunk was making notes of the world's most ridiculous power.

The day continued like that with Luffy practising his fruit to the enjoyment and entertainment of the crew and allies till Sanji announced loudly in his normal soft voice "Dinners ready my beautiful Lady's" then be followed by his annoyed voice "oi shitheads dinners ready" causing both Luffy and Bonney to shout in excitement "Food!!"

The duo both immediately rushed to their spots next to each other and started chanting together with smiles on their faces "FOOD, FOOD, FOOD" "Stop chanting you shitty captain wait for the others first" Sanji barked at luffy before immediately having heat eyes when talking to Bonney"your food will be ready soon Bonney-chan" Sanji sang. While the commotion was happening the straw hats entered and took their seats before Sanji started serving the girls first complimenting them on their appearance before just serving the guys with a small smile all except Zoro who received a grunt and a small comment of "moss head" before the two could even try to argue they both stopped and shivered from the glare Nami gave them leaving Jinbe to think to himself in shock "conquerors haki?"

After that small event dinner went as normal except it felt like having to deal with two Luffy's thanks to the fact that Bonney and Luffy started stealing food from other people's plates, But Luffy realised something during dinner and couldn't help but ask out loud to Bonney after he finished eating a piece of meat "hey Bonney nami told me earlier today that we might be headed to a summer island that has a lot of buffet restaurants so I was wondering since you are the only person who likes eating as much as me if you wanted to go with me"

Now to the crew mates that didn't know Bonney's or Luffy's feelings this sounded out of nowhere but for the others, it was the best thing they heard all week with Zoro and Jinbe happy to see there captain take a shot with the Woman that had captured his heart. Nami and Robin couldn't contain their excitement for their new friend to get some alone time with the captain. Meanwhile, Bonney looked like she was about to explode with how red her face had gotten and without saying a word gulped her mouthful down and stormed away not even acknowledging the question.

This made Luffy immediately stand up and run after her managing to sidestep Sanji and go after Bonney and eventually saw her slumped near a corner of the ship with her hands covering her face. Luffy seeing this decided to go up to Bonney and sit next to her before sighing getting the Gluttons' attention. "I don't know what's wrong whether it be something I said or did but I'll leave you alone till you feel comfortable again just tell me your answer be..." Bonney hearing how much this cared about her feelings caused her to look at him with soft eyes and interrupted his words with an immediate answer "Yes I'll gladly go to this buffet with you"

this made Luffy smile and stand up offering his hand to take her back to finish their dinner not expecting Bonney's next words."on one condition instead of going as two friends or allied captains we call it a date deal" Bonney suggested with confidence and a small blush on her cheeks that was mirrored by Luffy who couldn't help but smile and nod dumbly not expecting for Bonney to confirm her feelings like that but Luffy immediately replied after recovering from the shock and replied "it's a date" and after Bonney took Luffy's hand he couldn't help but give Bonney a small hug and by instinct gave her a soft peck on the cheek resulting in Bonney looking at him in disbelief before giving Luffy a small peck on the lips and gave him a soft smile before they both walked back to finish their dinner together.
