Poe&GnReader {Strange Karl}

"Catch, Karl!" You exclaimed and threw a treat.

Karl caught the treat in his mouth and made a happy squeak noise.

"Great job! You're improving!" You told Karl.

"W-wow, Karl." Poe was sitting beside you on a bench. You three were at a park.

Karl began running around in circles, you and Poe were confused.

Karl then began walking away.

"Huh?" You and Poe were both confused. You both sat up from the bench and began following him.

~Time Skip~
"Karl seems very.. energetic today." You looked at Poe.

Karl squeaked while resting on Poe's head.

"He's usually not this lively." Poe agreed.

Karl was looking all around him on Poe's head.

You looked ahead.

Karl jumped off of Poe's head and walked into a store.

You and Poe followed him with a confused expression on your faces.

~Time Skip~
You, Poe, and Karl were sitting at a booth eating ice cream. They had an ice cream for Karl that was pet friendly.

Karl squeaked happily.

You blinked twice in surprise at Karl. "Wow. Did he get a ton of coffee or something?"

"Now that you mention it, he's been very energetic since I accidentally lost ."

Karl ate his ice cream in the bowl.

You three walked inside Poe's office. You noticed Karl grabbing a toy and running over to Poe. Karl began running around him.

"K-karl?!" Poe was caught by surprise.

"What's he doing..?" You mumbled.

Karl began running around you as well.

"I-I think.. He's in the mood to play a game?" Poe mumbled.

You grabbed Karl's toy and he looked up at you. You threw the toy and he ran for it.

"Fetch?" You muttered surprised.

Finally, Karl had calmed down.

He had ran all the way to your house. It was exhausting chasing after him.

Karl had memorized where you live since Poe visited you a couple of times.

You were sitting on your couch and Karl was napping on your lap.

Poe was writing his story at your kitchen table.

You were reading a book. Karl moved around in your lap while snoring quietly.

You began petting him as he slept. He nuzzled into your palm and you smiled.

Soon, Karl woke up and walked off of your lap. He jumped onto the armrest of your couch and began walking around your house.

You watched him as he began walking on your kitchen counter. He then leaped onto the kitchen table, causing Poe to jump in surprise. Karl squeaked and jumped off of the table, back onto the couch. He then got on top of the couch and walked to the top of your head. He then finally rested on your shoulder.

You continued reading your book. You gently began scratching his neck.

Karl squeaked happily.

You chuckled.

What made him so energetic today?

I guess we'll never know.

{Flashback}
Karl was wandering away from you and Poe. He walked down a small trail and looked around him. He continued walking until he stopped by a small pond. His eyes widened a little.
Standing there, was another raccoon. The raccoon looked at Karl and squeaked.

Karl stared at the raccoon.

The raccoon squeaked one last time and ran off.

Karl sat there stunned. He had fallen for the other raccoon.
