After a long day of training the future guardians Spyro was finally on his way home for the day when he suddenly felt kind of woozy. He leaned against a strong tree and took slow deep breaths as the wooziness slowly faded away. "W-what was that?" He asked as he examined himself but found no signs of what could've caused that issue. Seeing nothing to explain it he chalked it up to working too hard and began heading to the castle where Cynder should be waiting for him. What he didn't know was that, that woozy feeling was the result of a power drainage. The dark Dragoness of Malefor's castle smirked as her plan had already begun, she would slowly drain the almighty Spyro into a living husk then she'd do what she was always meant to. "Hehe, have a pleasant night your majesty, I'll be waiting for your next donation." She said smirking as she vanished into the shadows of one of Warfangs alley ways as her body grew darker and slightly larger.

Meanwhile Cynder was currently examining the egg she had found. "I wish I knew who you belonged to little egg, I don't feel like I'd be a great mother with my past." She said softly. It was the whole reason she took up royal guard trainer in the first place to try and push herself ragged through training unfortunately for her it wasn't as hard as she'd thought. She looked at the egg for a little more before she decided to get some rest so she climbed into hers and Spyro's bed and laid down while also making sure her tail was curled around the egg as passive maternal instincts had taken hold in her mind the second she looked at the pretty, fragile egg. This is where Spyro found her and needless to say the sight of an egg in Cynder's tail had made him confused. "Uh Cynder, you awake?" He asked as he knew better than to touch a sleeping dragon who's curled around an egg. "Yes Spyro, I'm awake." She said calmly as her eyes fluttered open. "What is with the egg, I thought you said you weren't ready to be a parent?" Asked Spyro. Cynder sighed and told him the whole story about the note and how she found it. "I see, well I guess this egg will be the test for our parenting skills." He said smiling as he nuzzled Cynder deciding not to tell her about the woozy spell just yet.

As Spyro and Cynder drifted off to sleep, Spyro had the unshakable feeling that something bad was going to happen, so bad in fact his mind sent his subconscious to the Chronicler for guidance. "Where ... where am I?" Asked Spyro as he looked around at all of the books and stuff that were adorning the weird room. "You are in my sanctum." Said a voice Spyro never thought he'd hear again. He spun around only to come face to face with a blue colored Ignitus. "I-Ignitus?" He asked in disbelief. "Hehe, yes, it is me Spyro, you are not imagining this." He said smiling. Spyro, overjoyed at his mentor still being alive hugged him. "What am I doing here and what're you doing here?" Asked Spyro. "Well I am here cause I'm the Chronicler, when I sacrificed myself in that fire I didn't completely die, my actions got me this role, you on the other hand are in some major mental stress, tell me what is wrong." Said Ignitus. "I don't know but I feel like a major threat is coming, I can feel the elements in my body feeling all out of alignment and the last time this feeling occurred was when I took that dark beam of energy to protect Cynder all those years ago." He said recalling the events and feelings.
