I had gotten used to this life by now, the death and destruction each game brought. I have been here for 3 nights now and each night I attended a game. I felt it was best that I have some visa days spare incase I had an injury. All up I have 12 days of visa spare so I'm not going to play for a bit. I have met a few people while I have been here and I have concluded that each card suit represents a different game. Diamonds = intelligence, Clubs = teamwork, Spades = physical endurance and Hearts = Psychology. The number also seems to be a difficulty rating although I am unsure whether Ace is 1 or 11. Tonight I want to find somewhere to stay for a couple days as well as fine food and water.
One of the games I have played was the 6 of diamonds. It was a game of black jack and was quite difficult, it only allowed for one person to survive and fortunately it was me, we also were allowed to cheat once. I finished the game 10 minutes earlier the expected than the one hour time limit. At the end of the game 1 person was shot and the rest hanged.
Another game I played was the 2 of spades it was a game where I had to hold onto an elevator until it reached the top, although it stoped at random times, it was the first game I played where I wasn't the only one who survived. A woman who introduced herself as Kuina was there. I found her a little odd especially since she was wearing swim wear and smoking an unlit cigarette. She seemed nice though and was encouraging me to keep trying even when I felt like I was going to fall. I thanked her and we talked a bit but she said she had to leave to this place called the beach. I'm not quite sure what it is but it explains her outfit. She was wearing a blue two piece bikini the whole time we were hanging on.
I trudge forward in search for somewhere safe to spend the night. As I was walking a large store caught my eye. I needed new clothes and such as these were too large for my body. I walked towards some racks of clothes finding dresses, skirts and such but I found in terms of survival it would be unpractical. I then moved to a different area and found some Khaki pants that had multiple large pockets, as I put them on I found that they were flexible and quiet when I walked. It seemed that they were perfect for any game I would have to face. I then turned to find a shirt and settled for a plain black T-shirt and coat that I found had a good pocket to store my fathers gun into. I also walked until I found some sneakers, they looked much more practical than the large clunky shoes I was wearing now.
I continued walking through the shops looking for anything that could be helpful. I came across a knife, map and compass, I thought it would help if I was in need of navigation. A sudden wave of hunger rolled through me and I realised that I should start eating well if I was going to participate in the games. I quickly found some noodles, although they weren't the best to eat I had limited options as most things here were rotten or stale. I ate them quickly before finding a hidden place to rest for a while. The last couple of days I haven't been sleeping out of fear that someone could kill me at any moment. That's what I hate most about this world. You cant trust anyone because your all playing the same game.
I have decided that it is best for me to be productive if I have a routine. I decided that if I wanted to win every game I had to enhance my abilities, every morning I went for a run in order to keep up my shape. I know in the real world I wasn't that strong but in here I need to be, I hardly made it through the 2 of spades game so when my next comes I need to be ready. I read lots of books about logic in hopes that in my next diamond game I would find it quite easy as I was more knowledgeable. In my final hours of the day I would think about this new world I was in and try to understand how to leave. I never understood.
—Time Skip—
I slowly walked towards my next game my visa expires in two days so it was necessary to play soon. It was dark now so when I saw the lights of the 'L' shaped building it was hard to miss. As I walked in I quickly took a phone as instructed before going into the corner away from everyone else. It seemed as if there were no limit of players as there were many phones left. It scanned my face in and it showed the cards I had. I put my phone in my pocket not wanting to see them as they only made me think of the people who had died. I tapped my foot out of boredom as I waited for more players to arrive.
