"So, that was Sophie Sanchez. She's a senior." The conversation happening in front of her was irrelevant. She was half listening, the only reason she didn't zone out was that Abby was gripping her hand. The skin-to-skin contact makes her hyper-aware of her senses. She felt the way Abby's hands melted into her own, the fabric of the sheer socks slipping inside her shoes, at least she wasn't overheating. The weight of her oversized cable-knit vest fit was comforting along with the sleek feel of her black shorts though she had removed the rings she was wearing earlier, they were a bit restricting and annoying after a few minutes. enough about herself though, out of her head and back to the conversation.
"Cool, We're not cool." Abby was humble as she dropped Sav's hand to sit under the berry tree.
"Cool people say they're not cool, so we're very cool," Max answered with that bubbly annoying voice of hers that savannah grew to hate more each and every time she spoke. She didn't know why she didn't like the girl, after all, she was her sister's only friend but from what she saw of the girl? She was like a planet, everyone else a moon rotating around her while she basked in the attention and pushed boundaries.
"Hey, MAN!" A girl called from down the hallway, the mood of the group changing almost instantaneously. She noticed the small details of their stance. Norah was still in the chair, Abby standing a bit off to the side of Max while she leaned into Ginny's awkward figure all while savannah stood tall behind Ginny.
"Oh, people call us MAN, Maxine, Abby, Norah, because we're inseparable." They explained much more to Ginny than her sister, forgetting she was there a bit.
"Samantha has been trying to weasel her way in for years, but she is the definition of second-tier," Abby clarified a bit rudely. If she didn't already trust the girls' judgment, she'd think she was being shallow but Sav did actually like Abby. They had US History together and she had been more than welcoming.
"Guys! With Ginny, we can be GMAN." Maxine stated eccentrically which elicited a giggle from Savannah. It was mostly because 'GMAN' sounded outlandish. She didn't mind that her initial wasn't included as she was clear on her standing with the friends. She only got involved with them when her sister wanted her around and even that wasn't much.
"Come here for a second." "What are you doing?" The trio left the twins alone as the strange girl approached them.
"I'm Samantha." And here came the bubbly drawl that Sav had grown to hate. That valley girl accent always made her want to chop off her ears, blend them, and drink them as if it would stop the mind-numbing pain that she was caused when the sound hit her ears.
"I'm Ginny, uh She's Savannah" She left it to her twin to introduce them both, Her sister could tell at least by now when she was in a mood and wasn't going to speak.
"They can be really cliquey." Samantha gestured to 'MAN' as they had their little huddle going on, the three of them watching as they turned the corner.
