Chapter 39

"I really want you in Italy with me Amanda. We can see each other when you're not studying."  She raises an eyebrow, "How else are you going to become a doctor."

She gives me a genuine smile and I cried tears of joy. "I also want you to be my bridesmaid."

"OMG really I would be honoured to be a part of your wedding,"

"We're sisters for life remember which means we need to be in each other's lives till death parts us."

"I have missed you."

"You don't call, you don't write," I give her a grin.

"Isabelle why did it take trauma for us to become real friends?"

"You were trying to save my brother from being hurt and your parents lives."

I see the sadness on her face then it's replace with a grin."I need to talk to mum and dad but I'm going to Italy. We don't have any other family members keeping us here."

I felt such sadness for her that it's just been the three of them relieving their nightmares all this time.

"Great you can come back to Italy on the private plane with me. You can stay at the palace till you find a home you want me to buy for you."

"You have given me enough I can buy a home with the money you came me."

I put up a hand to silence her, "You're going to meet a guy and fall in love one day. Then you're going to have kids and you will  want to leave them something. Not to mention medical school is expensive."

She laughs then becomes serious for a moment, "The thought of falling in love next crossed my mind. You know I would get slapped and hit in that hell hole."

I hold her tightly, "I'm so sorry that happened to you. Before I remembered Freddie he made me feel safe and protected. There are good guys out there Amanda and you damn well deserve one."

You're right I do."

"I want you, me, Zoe and Kimi if she's free to have a movie night at mine before I leave for Italy for good."

"You must be so excited for the wedding."

"Oh I forgot you don't know?"

"Know what?"

I tell her about me being married, "A bedside marriage how romantic.  You know what I mean."

"Yes I do. I need to go I'll call you later okay."

"Okay."

And just like that I knew she would call me back. I say hello to her parents and leave. I go to Damian's hiding place and give him a check for the same amount. He and his wife was opened mouth. He insisted he didn't need payment. He helped me for his country and my gran didn't pay him so I don't need to. I point out to him he has three kids to feed one less than a year old. He gratefully took the check and I invite him to my wedding.

I return to the palace to see my little brother Noah was back from school.

"Hey sis."

"Hey little brother how was school?"

"Great, how's Italy?"

"Wonderful but I miss you guys very much."

"We must you too here I got you something."

"You did that was sweet of you. What is it?"

He put a jewellery bag next to me. I open it to see a charm bracelet, "Noah this is so beautiful thank you. I'll never take it off."

"I want you to remember people in Denmark love you too every time you look at it."

"What a sweet gift." I hug him tightly.

Couple days later I was enjoying a drink with Amanda on the plane to Italy. "Thank you for your persistence I wouldn't be going to Italy otherwise. After you left and I told my parents about your offer they left their room. They started participating in life again and we went to a restaurant yesterday. I think mum and dad needed not only a change but something positive to look forward to. They have starting learning Italian."

I was glad I could help Doris and James to remember life is for living. I knew the king and queen would do their best to help them integrate into society again.

We arrive in Italy and I introduce Amanda and her family to the Costas.
