Tula? She likes me? I don't really feel the same way though.
If only she knew. Lyla is who I belong with. Maybe It'll occur to her soon. Hopefully. I wouldn't want her getting the wrong message.

I like Tula, but not in that way. She's funny, pretty, and nice. But we're just friends. Right? Damn, what am I thinking right now. Of course we're just friends. I like Lyla.

Some days later, jazz band

I wake up. It's time for jazz band. I love jazz band, but hate the timing. What kind of teacher makes his students wake up at 5 AM to go to play instruments? Jesus.
As soon as I entered the band room, I see Tula. She quickly glances my way, but looks back, immediately avoiding eye contact. I ignored it and sat down next to Lyla.
''Hey,'' I said to her.
''Hey, Irene.'' She replies.
Oh how I love her sweet calming voice.
''Did you hear?'' I started to say. ''That Tula has a crush on me?'' I finished
''Oh, well, you should totally go for her,'' Lyla replied almost as casual as wearing sweats and a tshirt.
My heart dropped.
...What?
