"Shadow.... I don't wanna fight you man," Sonic said. "I've been through so much over the past five months. Staying hidden. Staying safe. Trying to find a way to get rid of what's in me." Shadow was about to raise his weapon, but GUN soldiers came busting into Sonic's apartment, surrounding him long before Shadow could raise his weapon. "Good work Agent Shadow," one said. "We'll take over." Shadow then raised his weapon at Sonic, making him step back. "I'm sorry Faker, but this is for the best," he said with a sigh. Then, he shouted something at the other agents. After that, Sonic was on the chase of his life, dodging bullets and sleeping darts ever which way, while still keeping his hoodie on.

He moved left and right, until the chase took him jumping out of his apartment window after nearly getting hit by a sleeping dart. Oh man that was too close, Sonic thought to himself after getting up from an old mattress he landed on. I need to outrun these guns and head to another location as soon as possible. Shadow happened to spot Sonic and jumped out after him. Sonic looked back, seeing Shadow hot on his tail. He knew that Shadow was fast, but he was faster. He used the streets and environment to his advantage, ducking behind anything he could find or use as a shield to block bullets and darts as more agents began to surround him.

As Sonic moved around the area, more agents tried to hit him, but with Sonic's heightened hearing, he was able to hear the bullets and darts headed his way, and was able to quickly dodge them. I guess having a better sense of hearing does come in handy even when you're not a monster, Sonic thought to himself after dodging some more. He dashed by some civilians, who recognized him, but Shadow and the agents would also pass by them, leaving them confused looks. If there was something Sonic was happy about, it was them not targeting him like how the agents were. That would just put more trouble on his hands.

The sound of bullets had often startled the civilians, since they had no idea what was going on. Shadow eventually went up to Sonic's side and had the dart gun up to the side of his head. "Surrender now Faker. I don't want to do this the hard way but I will if I have to!" Shadow shouted. Sonic stopped dead in his tracks once the two landed in an abandoned warehouse that was outside Shamar's borders. Sonic got into a battle position, ready to fight. "Like I said, I don't want to fight you, but I'll defeat you again to get you out of my sight!"

"Very well," Shadow replied. The two then duked it out in the warehouse as Sonic used his surroundings to his advantage. He dodged bullets from Shadow's gun and sped around the place. Sonic always checked his watch to see if his heartrate was below or close to 200, and then continue onwards. He homing attacked Shadow in the face, dropping his gun. The two then fought arm to arm afterwards. "What game are you playing?" Shadow asked Sonic. "I'm not playing anything. Just hoping to get away from here," Sonic answered. He reared Shadow hard in the stomach, causing him to fly back. What Sonic didn't see was a stun dart hitting him right in his neck. He jerked back, shaking as his hand touched the dart that pierced his hoodie into his skin.

Shadow got up and saw the soldiers surrounding the hedgehog from above. He touched his ear piece. "Why did you shoot?" he asked the soldier that shot Sonic. "I just took aim and fired. I'm following orders Agent Shadow," the soldier replied. Shadow sighed and shook his head, and walked over to Sonic, who had collapsed on the floor in pain. Shadow's ears then twitched at the sound of something..... beeping. He bent down towards the hedgehog's arm to see a watch with a heart monitor built into it. He saw the number slowly rising. 196, 197, 198. With each time the number went up, Sonic shook harder. What is- Shadow started. He couldn't think straight because the watch started beeping madly once it reached 200.

Before he could react, Shadow felt Sonic grab his neck and strangle him as the hedgehog got up, and yet, he was staring into two, light green eyes that were written in rage. Sonic then yelped in pain and dropped Shadow, collapsing back onto the floor. The soldiers were about to fire as Sonic's transformation started, but Shadow told them to hold their fire. "I've got the Werehog under control. You guys be my backup," Shadow said afterwards. The soldiers held their weapons down as Sonic moaned and screamed/roared during his change, his hoodie ripping into shreds from his growing body. Then, it was silent. Shadow spun around a few times after when he heard the sound of something running. "Where are you Sonic?" Shadow said softly to himself.

He looked over and saw the dart next to Sonic's now shredded hoodie. It seemed the dart popped off as Sonic changed. Shadow then heard a solider scream as Sonic, now as the Werehog, attacked one of them and threw him out the window. That was when they all started firing as the creature used its ability to stretch its arms to transverse the warehouse from above. He had taken out some of the soldiers before spotting Shadow and jumping down into the darkness. Shadow could hear Sonic's growls through the darkness. "Come on out Werehog! I will destroy you!" the hedgehog shouted. A steel crate came his way as Shadow ducked under it, and then proceeded to open fire.

Sonic whimpered from the bullets, but then roared again, this time launching a series of punches and began throwing things. Shadow dodged them all, but got hit by a surprise punch as Sonic leapt at Shadow and punched him. Hard. Shadow fell back with a thud as he crashed into the ground, his gun flinging from his hands. "Oof...." he moaned. Sonic pined Shadow down with his huge hands, preventing Shadow from escaping. "I'm not scared of you!" he yelled. It was true that he wasn't scared of Sonic, but he breathed heavy in his face and growled.

Shadow was trying his best to hold his fear in, but that escalated quickly as Sonic reared up and growled again. Shadow braced himself for what's to come, as Sonic got down on all fours and roared in Shadow's face. Once he was done, Sonic growled again and dashed away from Shadow, throwing another steel crate into the wall as he left the warehouse. Shadow was sitting on the ground speechless. He got up as he watched Sonic disappeared into the sands ahead of him. Rouge and Omega had arrived on spot after hearing the roar. "Shadow. What happened?" Rouge asked. "Let's head back to base," Shadow said. "Then I'll tell you."
