enid managed to convince wednesday and mara to go and i quote 'best friend dress shopping'. mara was just planned to wear her suit from her old school's dance but she decided to go as well. emotional support for wednesday you could say.

the trio were currently standingoutside of a very much pink store, it had the good old blue curtain trim on the edge of it.

"what the kind of dystopian hellspace is this?" wednesday asks, staring at the store witha horrified expression.

mara patted her shoulder in comfort. "there there cupcake."

"our first roomie shopping spree!" enid boasted excitedly. "the dance committee's suggesting all white to match the theme, but that's not gonna fly with us."

"well mara and i have some buisness that we have to attend to. so cut us off and attend to your pack." wednesday looked up at mara for support.

mara noticed the girls look and added on. "yes alpha wolf, we are only betas, cut us loose and go mate with the folk."

enid looked at the two weirdly, sighed then walked away. wednesday looked at mara. "go mate with the folk?"

"shut the fuck up wednesday, i was feeling pressured okay? leave me alone," mara spat sarcastically as she threw her arm around wednesday's shoulder and made her walk.

the two were passing uriah's heap and wednesday stopped and noticed a beautiful black dress. mara smirked and noticed this. mara looked at thing, who was on wedneday's shoulder. thing faced mara and gestured a thumbs up, mara nodded.

then someone came out of the store, a lady wearing all white and blonde hair. "hi wednesday. that dress will certainly turn some heads."

she then noticed mara. "hi, you must be mara right? wednesday has mentioned your name a couple times at our sessions."

mara smirked and looked at wednesday, "has she now? that's nice of her. you must be dr kinbott, nice to meet you."

kinbott smiled at the girl while wednesday on the other hand looked embarrased, she glared at kinbott. "are you collecting more exotic trinkets for your office?"

"those are souvenirs from my travels. it;s how i step outside of my comfort zone. speaking of which, are you two going to the rave'n this weekend?" kinbott asked, glancing between the girls with a knowing look.

before mara could respond, wednesday answered. "i'm not required to answer your questions out in the wild, am i?"

"i'm not in need of a therapist, nor do i have one. but yes we are going to the rave'n," mara smiled at kinbott, who smiled at her in return.

"that's exciting. i look forward to talking about it at our next session," kinbott says to wednesday. wednesday doesn't answer, grabs mara's sleeve and walks away. mara looks back and quickly waves back at kinbott and looks forward again.

mara walks beside wednesday, mara suddenly stops. wednesday stops as well, looking at the girl in confusion. "why did you stop?"

"i have to go....get something," mara replies, looking anywhere but wednesday. "thing can come along with me as well, to keep your girl company.

wednesday furrowed her eyebrows but shrugged her shoulders nonetheless. "okay, well meet up at the bee club afterwards. don't take too long. i know you like to take your time.

"you think so low of me wednesday, it hurts your girls heart." mara pouted sarcastically as wednesday rolled her eyes in responde. thing then crawled down wednesday and then crawled up mara and placed himself on her shoulder.

and with that the two walk away in seperate directions, wednesday towards god knows where and mara towards uriah's heap to get a special someone a special dress.

mara turned to thing. "will this make her fall in love with me thing?"

thing gestured in response. mara nodded. "you're right, i shouldn't be thinking about that."

the two finally make it to uriah's heap. mara walked towards the door,gripped the door handle then swinging it open. walking inside. mara looked around the store, she wasn't sure why so many people didn't like this place, i mean it's kind of spooky but a cool spooky.

the lady at the register smiled at the girl. "hello, welcome to uriah's heap. how may i help you?"

mara turned to the voice, finding a lady there. "hi there, i was wondering if i was able to get that dress that's on display right there."

mara pointed to the black dress that was on the manequin. the lady smiled at her. "of course."

mara smiled at the lady. she got the dress of the manequin and placed it in a dress cover and placed it in an oversized bag and handed it to her. "have a nice day."

"you too!" mara called out as she opened the door and exited the store. she turned her head to thing. "i'm just such a good friend."

mara face fell as she realized what she just said. "yeah, friends."

mara was going to meet up with yoko, enid and divina but she remembered that she was going to meet up with wednesday as bee club so thats where she is now.

wednesday pinned something to the murder board. "enid wouldn't let me keep this in our dorm. mara and i had no problem with it though."

"no worries. mi colmena es se colmena." mara gave him a wtf look as eugune continued talking. "i assume this is the creature that's been rampaging in the woods.

mara snapped his head at him. "are you telling me that you've heard about it without telling us?!?"

eugine tilted his head. "rumors. mr fitts banned me from bug hunting until further notice. claimed a bear was on the loose, which i knew was a lie. didn't match their hibernation schedules."

"of course you would know that," mara mumbles as eugune once again mentioned something about enid.

"speaking of monsters with shark claws, could you two give this to your roomie? put in a good word for me? i hear she still sans date for the rave'n." eugune showed them a jar of honey.

"eugune," wednesday says sternly.

"i know the chances of her asking me are next to zero, but i don't care. i'll keep putting myself out there until enid finally." he pauses. "sees me."

"keep up the good spirit bud, but she never will." mara patted his shoulder for comfort.

"she will." he states like it's actually going to happen. "i'm playing the long game. my moms say people will appreciate me when i'm older. i know they're probably just trying to make me feel better, but-"

wednesday cut him off. "listen, people like me, mara and you we're different. we're orignal thinkers, intrepid outliersin this vast cesspool of adolescence. we don't need these inane rites of passage to validate who we are."

"you're words are so diffcult, love that about you tho cupcake." mara grins at the girl. wednesday looked at her weirdly.

"so you two aren't going to the rave'n either?" eugune asks excitedly.

"no we are," mara replies. "we're going with eachother."

wednesday looks to the side to cover her slightly red cheeks as eugune smiles cheekily at the two. "i knew there was something going on between the two of you. i always had a feeling."
