It had been well over two weeks since Kiri's incident. For the first week, she didn't show up to training, you would occasionally slip by to find her or walk with her in order to help her feel less alone.
Your relationship with Neteyam has grown excessively over that time. It was just like before— being his friend, but with more touchiness. When you had went home after Kiri was treated by your mother, you were surprisingly not brought into a long conversation about him. You were glad but at the same time worried, because you knew it would happen eventually.
You never were sure about your parents opinions on you and Neteyam, or any of their children with other Na'vi clan members that weren't their own.
As for Ao'nung, day by day he would get all fussy about how you spent more time helping Neteyam than anyone else while they trained. He did it with Tsireya too, the two of you would chat about him when he wasn't around and you were alone. You were surprised he hadn't brought it up directly to your parents, even though it was clear he wanted to. It could've been because he was constantly being pulled away to do his own training.

Today, you decided to head over to the Sully's marui. Since it was the middle of the day, most were out, except for Neytiri. She was preparing lunch for her family. You peeked your head in, smiling once you two made eye contact.
"Hello." You waved, standing by the entrance, you held small pouch in your hand.
"Hello Y/N, come in." She smiled to you, patting a spot near her.You sat with your legs criss crossed, slightly bowing your head to her. "Do you need any help?"
"Oh no. Don't worry, I am almost done." She reassured you, you hummed. "Everyone is out?" You questioned, she nodded her head.
Putting her attention back on the food she was preparing, Neytiri smirked, working as she spoke.
"Neteyam will be back soon."Your ears fluttered to his name, and the way she said it. You cleared your throat, "And the rest too?"
"Are you really concerned for them? Or Neteyam." She teased, your ears were hot again, this time it was out of embarrassment, instead of just being flustered.
"I don't know." You replied, putting the pouch in front of you, she leaned in, observing it. "What is that?" She asked, you smiling as you thought about what was inside."It is small gifts for you and your family." You explained to her, she watched you pour out the hand-made jewelry, her eyes trailed to your face.
Over the weeks, you had interacted more with Neteyam's parents, but it was hardly one on one. So you were more nervous now than meeting them before, you wanted to make a good impression on his mother, especially now..with the situation between you and him."This one," You rummaged through the bag, pulling out a necklace made out the bluest shells and clams you could find, all of different sizes but organized in a way that made sense. Small pearls that adorned every two clams down the string that held it together.
Everything on the necklace was made with what reminded you of Neytiri. In fact, it took you longest, as well as a lot of courage to even give it to her. You didn't really want to tell her all the sappy details, you just hoped she'd be able to see it through your smile that you presented. As well as the gentleness you had as you handed her the necklace.Neytiri's eyes widened slightly, her smirk into a smile. Her appreciation was obvious in her face, which you felt relived to. "It is beautiful Y/N, Irayo."
Her gratitude was more than enough to make you feel closer to her. She was beautiful, you always thought so. Neteyam had the face of his mother. Her fingers grazed along the necklace, every shell, clam, pearl, even the in-betweens where you wrapped small pendants of crystal rocks you slipped in there, she appreciated. Your gift to her would mean so much.
