Mysterious Egg

"Here you go Jerry." Athena says as she is giving her animals a bath before handing one of them to Jerry to dry off.

"Hey Athena. You want some help?" Alexis says as she walks over toward Athena.

"Alexis! Wait. Why are you here? Aren't you embarrassed to be seen with me? Especially after what happened?" Athena asks as she gives a nervous look.

"Not at all. I love being around you Athena and that will never change." Alexis says as she smiles at Athena and sits beside her on the ground.

"Thank you Alexis. I'm glad to have a friend like you." Athena says as she smiles at Alexis and hugs her.

"I feel the same about you Athena. So where can I begin?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Well could you get me the soap from that table over there?" Athena says as Alexis sees the soap.

"Of course." Alexis says as she grabs the soap and sits back down beside Athena.

"Jerry can you get Tom to fill this?" Athena asks as she hands Jerry a bucket as he goes inside with it.

"Uh should it be taking that long to be getting water?" Alexis asks as neither Tom or Jerry have come outside before she and Athena go inside to see Tom holding Jerry with an angry look.

"Water. Now." Athena says as she holds the bucket out while giving an unamused look.

*Timeskip*

"I'm not entirely sure what this is." Alexis says as she and Athena are looking at a white round object that Tom and Jerry brought back from the forest.

"Oh it's an egg." Athena says.

"Not like any egg I've ever seen before." Alexis says.

"It won't hurt you Tom. You do have to keep it warm though. Come on." Athena says as she tries to get tom to sit on the egg with no luck.

"I don't think he wants to do it Athena." Alexis says.

"There'll be some cream in it for you." Athena says before Tom smiles and quickly sits on the egg.

"Well that worked. Sneaky but it worked." Alexis says as she smiles at Athena.

"But you cannot move from the egg. Hmm I just have to find out what kind of egg it is." Athena says as she and Alexis go over to a bug shelf and begin rummaging through books.

"Oh that's it! It's a dragon's egg." Athena says as she finds the egg in a book.

"Wow. An actual dragon's egg. Talk about a rare find." Alexis says.

"Tom you're supposed to be with the egg." Athena says before she and Alexis see the egg is hatching.

"I don't think that's gonna be much of a problem now. Look. It's hatching." Alexis says.

"Mama?" The baby dragon asks as it nuzzles Tom much to his annoyance.

"Oh. Cute." Alexis says as she and Athena chuckle.

"Tom he thinks you're his mother. What a cute little puff. I'm gonna name you Puffy." Athena says as the dragon puffs smoke before trying to sleep on Tom as he smiles at the baby.

"Adorable but what are you gonna do about it though Athena?" Alexis asks as she looks at Athena.

"We're just gonna have to take care of him. Though this is the first dragon we've ever had." Athena says.

"But how are you gonna take care of him?" Alexis asks curiously.

"I'll talk to Kaldorf tomorrow. He'll know what to do." Athena says.

"And I'll go with you. I'll stay with you tonight so we can go early tomorrow." Alexis says.

*Timeskip*

"Heh good morning Tom. How's our Puffy doing?" Athena asks as she and Alexis get up the next morning and see Puffy holding onto Tom.

"Attached at Tom's hip from the looks of it." Alexis says as she and Athena chuckle.

"Now keep an eye on him. Morning Jerry. Don't forget to make your bed. Breakfast. Bread." Athena says as she and Alexis go outside and feed the animals before coming back in and seeing Tom's bowl is empty.

"Well that didn't take long." Alexis says as she chuckles.

"Like the cream Tom? I got it special for you just like I said." Athena says.

*Timeskip*

"Mama. Tom you're supposed to be watching Puffy. Huh. Where'd he go?" Athena asks as she and Alexis come inside and see Puffy is gone before looking for him.

"Uh Athena." Alexis says as Athena, Tom and Jerry come over as the group sees Puffy running outside toward the town.

"Oh no." Athena says worriedly.

*Timeskip*

"Athena look." Alexis says as she and Athena see Tom and Jerry get Puffy away from Emily without him being spotted.

"Oh that was close. If the Elf Elders knew I had a dragon in town..." Athena says worriedly.

"You would be banished." A voice says from behind before revealing to be Kaldorf.

"Oh uh Kaldorf. We uh were looking for you." Alexis says nervously.

"They think only witches consort with the likes of ogres and dragons." Kaldorf says.

"Oh uh I was going to tell you." Athena says.

"Well now I know." Kaldorf says.

"Well what should I do?" Athena asks.

"Send him back to the wild where he belongs." Kaldorf says.

"What?" Alexis asks in surprise.

"But he's a helpless baby." Athena says as she hugs puffy.

"You have no choice Athena. Neither you Alexis. Your little friend here would be all the proof they need to cast you out. Both of you. I can no longer protect you from them. I'm getting too old. Promise me you'll do as I say." Kaldorf says.

"Uh but..." Athena says sadly.

"Promise." Kaldorf says.

"Well I mean uh..." Athena says as Alexis looks at her.

"Athena." Kaldorf says sternly.

"Okay I promise." Athena says reluctantly.

"Alexis?" Kaldorf asks as he looks at Alexis as she sighs.

"I promise too." Alexis says.

"It's for your own good young ladies." Kaldorf says as he walks away.

"Okay boys take Puffy back to our house." Athena says as she looks at Tom and Jerry.

"Athena." Alexis says as she looks at Athena.

"I didn't say when I'd do it. I will send Puffy away... when he's older and can fend for himself. Until then somebody's gotta take care of him." Athena says.

"But how will you keep him from getting loose?" Alexis asks worriedly.

"I'll find a cage to make sure he doesn't get away again." Athena says.

"Alright then. Count me in." Alexis says as Athena hugs her causing her to blush.

"You're the best Alexis. I know I can always count on you. See you back at the house." Athena says as she and Alexis walk off.
