Background: Aphrodite is the goddess of love, so she hates Athena, so she charmspoke her son Ian into sleeping with him to enrage her. This act bore Xander, who Athena got Zeus to try to kill with a tornado, but his mother managed to save him. His father, however, wasn't so lucky. Distraught and in regret for acting so impulsively, she gave Aphrodite a replica of her spear and Aegis and begged Aphrodite to put aside their differences and teach Xander how to use them. Aphrodite did this, and Xander became proof that the children of Aphrodite are not useless.
