Since you were in slytherin and she was in gryffindor people often bullied you, especially for hanging out with the trio and the boy who lived
But you didnt care, all you knew is that they were real friends

"Is it because you want to go with Malfoy?" She asked

"What! Noo!"
Then she gave me the 'I know you're lying' look

You sighed "mayyyyybe"
She kept looking at you

"Ok yes it is, but he'll never ask me, were just friends" you said to her then sighed

"Oh c'mon! Dont you see the way he looks at you y/n he is in love with you"

You looked at her and rolled your eyes " I dont think so, I mean there are way more prettier girls out there, and I'm well, just y/n, just y/n"

"And I thought ron was oblivious" she said quietly

~night before the yule ball~

You were sitting in the astronomy tower, even though you were supposed to be in your dorm, but again you didnt care
You had already decided to go to that ball even if you didnt have a date
"Of course no one wants to ask a girl who's friends with a muggle to a ball" you muttered under your breath and sighed looking up at the moon and stars

A few minutes later you heard footsteps
"Hello?" You called out
Then you saw platinum hair and you immediately knew it was your friend draco
You thought it was odd that draco even befriended you, I mean you're friends with the trio after all, you still wonder why he befriended you in first year he's draco freaking malfoy after all

"Draco is that you?"

"Oh y/n I didnt expect you to be up here, why are you up so late" he asked

"Couldnt sleep" you replied

"So... did you get asked to the ball yet" he asked looking away from you

"No.. I didnt really expect anyone to ask me to be honest" you said

He broke the silence and said "well, can I ask you a question"

"Sure" you say "what is it?"

"Do you um- would you like to go to the ball with me then?" He said

You had a face of shock and said "this isnt a prank is it"

You said and hugged him and he hugged back

" I better get some rest, good night draco" you said and kissed his cheek leaving him standing there flustered

You were in your friend, Hermione's dorm since all your makeup was there and you started putting on your dress and curling your h/c hair

" hey 'mione how does my dress look" you asked

" oh my god y/n" she gasped
