"I want to break up" the words ring in my ears. Archer looks back at me, "Come on Sam, people are waiting." He turns around taking my hand and helping me out the Farris wheel box.
I sigh, I don't think he heard me. "Let's get back to the others." I nod. "Archer." I say trying to get him to listen, but he keeps trucking along. We walk past all the booths, the colorful lights. "Do you want one of those?" He says motioning to a booth.
It's one of the ones where you have to knock down glass bottles in order to win. Above it is a giant pink teddy bear, "Sure, but-" "Then let's go!" He cuts me off and beelines it directly for the booth.
"Hello, what can I get for you?" The vendor says happily. Archer lets go of my hand to reach for his wallet. "How many do I need to knock down to get the bear?" The vendor chuckles, "Well you'll need to knock down ten stacks." Archer slams his card into the table, "Ten balls please."
I sigh, pulling my cloak tighter around me, I can't tell if he's doing this because I was going to break up with him, or if it's just him. He bangs through the first five towers, him drawing a small crowd. I stand on the edge of the booth, while onlookers (mostly girls) stare in awe as he throws the baseballs at the glass towers, shattering a few of them.
I roll my eyes, "Show off." I mutter underneath my breath. I walk over to him and grab my phone from his back pocket. A few of the girls give me stink eyes and I give them one right back. I take a photo of myself, i might not like the fact that I was forced to wear it, but the costume looks good.
"He's on the last one." I hear someone yell, I turn to see him wind up and completely obliterate the last tower of milk bottles. The crowd cheers as the vendor asks him what his prize will be. He pulls me over, wrapping a hand round my shoulder "Which one do you want babe?" I hear a girl gasp, "Babe?" I give her a side eye.
I wrap my arm around his waist,"Hmm, they have a pikachu one." He turns back to the vendor. "I'll that giant pikachu." Pointing yo the giant plushie that's hanging on the wall. The vendor nods, bringing down the plushie with a hook. He hands it to archer, to which he hand it to me.
It's massive and basically the size of me, "Want me to take a photo of the two of you" the vendor asks. Archer nods, I hand him my phone. I bring the plushie down so you can see my face, Archer wrapping a hand around my waist bringing me closer. The vendor takes a few photos and hand the phone back to archer.
We thanked him and walk away. This massive plushie went from cute to annoying the second I almost fell because I couldn't see where I was going. "Want me to carry it for you?" He asks and I happily relinquish the burden.
We walk past all the other booths, laughter and the smell of fall fills the air, it's actually quite pretty. "Sam." I turn to him. "Yes Archer?" "Wh-" he gets cut off by Jonathan. "Bro why you have that giant yellow rat?" I roll my eyes.
"It's not a rat, it's a pikachu, and I won if for Sam." Archer explains. Stacey keeps her distance from me, good. I give her a small smile, you can she her shrink back in her skin. "Wow." was all Jonathan could say.
"Shall we get dinner?" Jonathen says wrapping an arm around Stacey. Dinner?? We ain't say nothing about no dinner. I look over at Archer his eyes on the ground. I sigh taking his hand in mine, "Where are we going?" his eyes light up, he tries to hug me but I shake him off.
"Don't touch me."
