It was getting harder for Steve to maintain the normal hating Bucky thing in public. They hadn't fought or had an argument since the talk that day and they tried to stay separate during trainings. People would surely notice their love eyes and small flirting, so it was like a silent agreement between them that they would avoid each other until evenings.
But every so often, neither of them could help but look up and look towards the other. Sometimes they would do it at the same time and give small smiles before snapping out of it and looking down.
And it really didn't help that his dick had been down Bucky's throat yesterday, or the fact he woke up with their limbs tangled together. But he carried on with his training, smiling occasionally like an idiot, and getting hit by Nat telling him to snap out of it.
"Alright everyone!" Coulson shouted and waited until everyone had gathered around. "Today we will be doing weighted runs In the stairway. During your last mission you had to carry large bags of equipment to your positions. Normally those positions will be miles away from the jet, so to get you used to that, we're putting you in full tactical gear with bags and having you run up and down the stairs".
"Everyone go put on your underclothes and be back here for the rest in five minutes", shouted Maria as everyone started running in different directions.
Steve had left his in the changing rooms so he headed inside to put on the itchy black material. A few of the others wandered in after and did the same, including Brock and his group. And Bucky of course, it doesn't feel right for him to class Bucky in with that group anymore. He seems so different to them now.
"It must be so great in Nat's changing room", one of the nicer men said to the group.
Steve rolled his eyes but didn't say anything.
"Yea, she's so hot. I bet it's always so steamy in there", one of the idiots grinned.
The first man looked slightly uncomfortable as he stuttered before shaking his head.
"I-I meant because she doesn't have to share. It wouldn't smell as bad as ours".
Steve chuckled at the mans comment and was glad to see at least some of the men were respectful behind her back.
"Yea, whatever", the ruder one replied. "What about you Rogers? You seem close to that, wouldn't you have a go?"
Steve clenched his jaw before turning around and saying casually, "don't say that, acting as if she's an object. Have some respect".
It angered the man as he stepped forward, his friends following and Brock right beside him.
"What, are you already? Is she your girlfriend or something?"
"No, but your being an asshole and she isn't here to defend herself".
Bucky looked worried from the other side of the room as his 'friends' surrounded Steve.
"What are you gonna do then?" They challenged. "You going to tell her, and then what? Beat me up?"
Steve wasn't happy being pressed into a corner, so he stepped forward and hissed in the mans face.
"No, I wont have to. She can defend herself against low lives like you perfectly well"
Before anyone could respond, Bucky appeared between them trying to ignore Steve but get the others to back away telling them its not worth it or to let it go.
They eventually backed off and slowly filed out. Bucky quickly tuned with a worried look towards Steve before he followed them out.
In the other room, each trainee was handed giant vests and helmets and guided to pick up a heavy rucksack on their way to the stairs.
