It was around 11:00am when I crawled into my office.
It's in one of the Port warehouses down by the docks.
The office had seen better days, but right now it was more squared away than I was.
And the Port? It's big, smelly, dirty, and dangerous.
My receptionist said it reminds her of someone, but she won't say who.
Whatever.
People die here regularly, and sometimes irregularly.
Shot, killed in a knife fight, drowned or just found dead over their keyboard.
And then there's the animals.
Yesterday a Guardian got mauled by a Wolverine.
The day before, a pack of Panthers took on a couple of Leopards.
Huh - cat people!
And of course there's the 180 tonne German Maus.
World of Tanks? It's more like a zoo.
The name's Hammer, Mike Hammer. I'm a private detective.
I may not be the swiftest player on the team, but I get there, eventually.
Some say I'm a heavy or a trouble-shooter. Others just call me a dick.
Whatever.
My receptionist was at her desk, with the phone to her ear.
Emma-Kate Sherman, tough as nails with a heart of gold. I call her Easy, but she's anything but.
She took one look at me and lobbed over a pain killer.
It was a little early in the day, but the contents of the mortar shell hit the spot.
Emma-Kate was shortening up the back end of a wedding dress while she listened on the phone to the latest update.
The dress was for her Canadian cousin, Griswalda Sherman.
Grizzly's a nice kid but my experience is that when love comes calling, it's always collect.
Whatever.
Easy hung up the phone and looked over at me.
"Word has it that Wargaming has done another sponsorship deal."
Great. They'd already used Arnie, Sly, Chuck, Swayze, and some characters from GI Joe. Who was left?
