Los Angeles, California, winter. it normally wasn't very cold but this time something was different, it was freezing.
Marina Ferguson had woken up at 4 am like she always did.

Marina creeped out of bed, trying not to wake her boyfriend, and went to the living room.
she sat down on the couch, watching television when she saw something slip through the door.

confused, Marina got up and grabbed the mysterious envelope.
'MARINA AND FRED', the envelope read.
she opened the note, which read
'CONGRATS ! YOU ARE TWO OF MANY TO BE SELECTED ON A TRIP TO ANARTICA ! HURRY AND PACK, YOU'RE LEAVING IN TWO DAYS !'

Marina's eyes went wide.
two days?, she thought
