Karen Wright (Audrey Hepburn) and her longtime best friend Martha Dobie (Shirley Maclaine) run an all-girls boarding school together. Karen is dating Dr. Joe Cardin (James Garner) whose niece goes to the boarding school. The bitchy kid causes a ton of trouble and hates the boarding school so she makes up absurd lies to get out of it. One lie she makes up causes her grandmother to freak out and call all the student's parents to take them out of the school. The two friends try to sue the grandma to no avail because Martha's useless aunt didn't want to help them in court.
It's a pretty sad movie and heartwarming one but it will cause your face to boil because of that damn bratty kid.
Not to mention there isn't that much gay but watch to find out :D
