Dell's POV: as Sherry fell asleep I saw Mundy our sniper enter carrying in takeout from chick-fl-a he also seemed to have gotten a kids meal for some reason then I saw him head to the medbay I followed him as saw him talking to Ludwig
"Come on ya wanker the shila needs to eat" Mundy said as Katie woke up and Mundy handed her the bag carefully she opened it and took a peep inside I saw her eyes widen was she not fed much when she with her parents?
"A-all this is for me?" Katie asked to Mundy who nodded a soft smile on his face her eyes lit up as I entered the medbay I greeted Ludwig and Mundy who waved to me I asked what was going on
"It's vothing Dell it's just Mundy trying to give the frau some food that isn't good for her" Ludwig said as his dove nuzzled Katie once more she smiled as she started to eat the food happily I smiled to her seeing how she was trusting us more
"Where is my sister?" Katie asked waking up slightly I told her her sister was eating Katie looked relieved almost then Misha our heavy entered and she looked scared I can't blame her Misha is pretty big to her he was almost like a giant seeing Katie's scared face Mundy gently pats her shoulder
"Its alroght shila that's just Misha he ain't going to hort ya" Mundy said smiling softly to Katie his accent getting thicker this happened when he gets worried which was rare but it seemed Katie didn't understand him can't blame him then Mundy hugs Katie his accent a lot less thick
"I tried to say Misha won't hurt you kiddo" Mundy said as Katie smiled softly hugging him close I could feel my heart melting at the sight seeing Katie trusting Mundy then she saw Jeremy and her eyes lit up slightly seeing him
"Mister scout!" Katie said her voice was sweet and innocent and slightly high pitch meaning she's most likely was at least under 10 years old then I saw Phoenix enter mask on still his suit slightly covered in ashes and blood seeing Katie he panicked slightly as he took off his mask not even caring about being nervous to show his scars to her
"K-Katie are you okay?!" Phoenix asked his voice trembling slightly I was shocked as Katie hugged him how did they know each other? as Katie cried softly into him he carefully took off his gloves gently cupping her cheek as he wiped away her tears
"shhh it's o-okay I'm okay Kate Kate I promise" Phoenix said a soft smile on his face as he hugs her again gently running his hand through her hair whispering something could they be family? it would make sense then I looked to Mundy and Ludwig
"uh vhat? Phoenix mein friend why didn't jou tell us about having a sister?" Ludwig asked as Phoenix softly smiled and looked to us
"because I knew this job was dangerous so I kept most of my personal life like where I lived and my family secret only Miss Pauling knows the truth..." Phoenix smiled softly as he brought out a small valentine's day card giving it to Katie
"happy valentines day little S-sis" Phoenix said then it all made sense those cards he asked Miss Pauling to send packages and card somewhere was it for Katie and Sherry? it would make sense I would see him buy stuff on the computer or send money somewhere it all makes sense now then the phone rang causing Katie to yelp and hug Phoenix tighter as Phoenix picked it up
"Oh! hello Miss Pauling! how can I help? uh huh? yeah those are their names....w-what...?" Phoenix voice wavered slightly his eyes showed anger I wonder why?
"Okay I'll take the job....can you come over tomorrow theres two people I need you and the admin to meet and be careful...they've been through a lot and I'm sure they will love both of you" Phoenix said a smile on his face as he hugged Katie again he hung up and got on Katie's level
"Okay Kate Kate a good friend of mine is coming to help you and Sher Sher okay?" Phoenix asked as Katie hugs him nodded I could see the smile Phoenix had as he picked up Katie and sat her on the medical bed
"Now Kate Kate how would you like if you and your sister stay here?" Phoenix asked Katies eyes lit up once more as she nodded and hugged him close
"Vell then at least she's vafe" Ludwig said smiling softly I couldn't help but smile seeing Phoenix not being too nervous so maybe they can help him keep his mask off more and be less nervous I hope then Jacques our spy entered he didn't have a cigarette thankfully and his mask was off as well he had a soft smile
Jacques The Spy POV: as I got on the girls level I could tell she was slightly scared of me I couldn't bare to think about what her and her sister went through as I look to Phoenix silently asking for advice
"Katie this is my good friend Jacques he's a spy you know like that Ninja turtle show you like only he's on our side" Phoenix said causing Katie the young girl to get closer to me as I gently patted her head she smiled softly and I could see Phoenix smiling as well I told Katie I would help keep her safe her and her sister Katie had slight tears as she hugged me
"Thank you...." Katie said she reminds me of Jeremy when he was young when I look to Phoenix he had a soft smile his scars in full view I asked him if he would need any help he shook his head
"No thank you Jacques but she seems to trust you now so at least that means Sherry won't try to hurt you but Solly needs to keep his voice soft because Katie has a fear of loud sounds" Phoenix said I nodded as he picked her up smiling
"Brother Phoenix can you make some of your muffins for me and sissy?" Katie asked as phoenix nodded Solly entered looking nervous
"Uh you idiots! a battle is starting soon" Solly said trying to keep his voice low I chuckled slightly seeing him try so hard
"Oi'm sorry shila we never did tell you what we do huh?" Mundy asked to Katie I sighed wishing I was in my smoke room because I need a smoke bad it's hard to explain we were mercenaries hired to kill based on our skills and skills alone as I slowly explained to her what we did her eyes slowly widen and looked to Phoenix
"Brother is this true...?" Katie asked to Phoenix who only nodded sadly as Katie hugged him tightly sobbing softly into him as Phoenix hugged her close I asked Phoenix how old Katie was he smiled
"she turns 11 in september on the 18th and Sherry is the same age as Jeremy" Phoenix said smiling softly as he picked her up hugging her close but what surprised me was that she was the same age as my son she looked much younger but that could mean she was malnourished or worse abused I hope Miss Pauling won't freak out but that's only a prayer
