STARING INTO TOPPER'S angry face, Alex found her mind coming up blank, her mouth unable to move.

But once he started to try and shove past her, the adrenaline took over and she found her voice again. "What the hell are you doing here, Topper?" She demanded, pushing him back with an equal force.

"What are you doing here?" He shot right back at her, the look in his eyes almost...evil.

From their close proximity, Alex could smell the booze on him. She groaned, putting a hand on his chest to push him back. "You're wasted."

"No, I'm not." He slurred his words, proving Alex's point. "Now move, I have to see Sarah."

"Well, she doesn't want to see you right now." Alex fired back.

"Well, that's too bad. She's got to explain some shit to me, and it's happening tonight." He put most of his weight into pushing against Alex.

"Go home, Topper." She grunted, using all of her own strength to hold him back.

With one final, especially rough shove, Topper was able to move Alex aside, pinning her to the railing just long enough that he could slip past. The dark-haired girl cried out, rubbing her sore stomach, which had been shoved roughly against the wooden rail.
