Eddie: Chris, hurry up. We still got to pick up Tia Pepa. Shouldn't take that long to pack a toothbrush

Buck: Why don't you just take a later flight? You were both at a funeral, you know. Y-your parents will understand.

Breona: They should understand

Eddie: What is the dress code at a retirement party?

Buck: Tie is probably too much

Eddie: It's my parents we're talking about. I'll just grab it all

Breona: This is why you don't wait until last minute

Buck: Are you sure this is a good idea?

Eddie: I have to go my mom made this huge deal about this party. He did work at the company for 40 years

Breona: And Chris... he's excited to see everyone

Eddie: He misses them

Buck: 40 years... that's a long time Uh, you said he was in oil, right

Breona: Petroleum engineer

Eddie: Spent his whole life driving across the state. Living everywhere but under his own roof with his own family

Buck: Listen, uh, as-as someone who also comes from a screwed-up family

Eddie: My family isn't screwed up just my dad, okay?

Breona: Plan is get in, get out without any drama

Eddie: Say congratulations, show off my fiancée, have some cake and... call it a day

Buck: And what about when he starts to get in there and push your buttons?

Eddie: There's a hotel 20 minutes away

Breona: Three and a half stars

Eddie: Chris is really gonna like the pool

Breona: Chris!

*Timeskip to when they pick up Pepa*

Pepa: Who is this?

Eddie: I'll introduce everyone when we get there

Pepa: Okay

*In Texas at Eddie's parent's house*

Eddie: ¿Que Paso? (What happened?)

Pepa: Nada, Where's Christopher? (Nothing)

Eddie: Out like a light ever since we left the car rental place

Isabel: Ay, pobrecito mi angelito (Oh, my poor little angel.)

Eddie: Abuela, it's so good to see you. L.A. feels a little less like home without you there

Isabel: Same here

Pepa: Mm. So, now, what's wrong?

Isabel: Your mother is in there cooking

Eddie: What? I thought my fancy brother hired caterers for his big parranda

Isabel: The caterers are only allowed to warm and serve the food. Helena insisted on making everything herself

Pepa: Everything? You didn't help at all?

Isabel: I was allowed to make the tamales

Eddie: Ay, Gracias (thank you)

Pepa: Thank you

Breona: I'm gonna go wake Chris, okay?

Eddie: Yes, of course
