21-year old, Nani Aaliyah Lockett, is diagnosed with with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

When she was 10 years old, her father was shot and killed due to gang violence. After his death, her mother ignored her and acted as if she didn't exist. When Nani turned 13, her mother remarried a man named Alonzo Richardson, who has a 16-year old son, Tremaine. Tremaine was sweet and kind to a lonely Nani in the beginning.

But, one night they were home alone, being that their parents were out of town on a romantic weekend getaway. Trey had a devious plan involving young Nani. He wanted to have his way with her. She wasn't dumb. When he tried removing her clothes, she fought him off. Or attempted to. He beat her until she was unconscious. He then raped her. She had no one she could tell. Her mother seemed to hate her, she hardly spoke to her stepfather, and she had no friends. Since nothing was done, Tremaine made it a frequent affair.

This went on until she turned 18 and left for college. She had a full scholarship and lives on campus. She usually keeps to herself. But that's until she bumps into him. Is she sane enough to love or is it just a waste of time?
