"Thank you for dropping them off, Severus," Ariana said softly as we entered the porch.
"This is your house?" Annabeth asked, dumbstruck.
"Yeah," Ariana replied weakly. "I hate it, so don't look forward to too much decor on the inside. Its just going to be Cabin Six."
"Hey, Cabin Six is cute," Jason said, "it's just extremely cream. Like, everything there is white and cream."
Professor Snape gave us a very confused look.
"It's TV show," Ari lied, rolling her eyes.
"I hope you know how to take care of them, Adler," said Snape, eyeing Nico, "some of them can be extremely strenuous to deal with."
Ariana smiled. "Thanks for the heads up," she said. "I'll see you around, then."
Professor Snape nodded, and with a swish and flick of his cape, he had apparated away.
Annabeth gasped as Ari led us down the porch to the living room.
Inside, there were no comfy looking couches and flower vases and coffee tables.
There were three working desk-tops, all covered in papers and blue sheets, stained by coffee mugs and coffee. To one corner of the room was an old and dirty couch, so dirty that I think Ari never actually used it. Pencils lay on the floor randomly, and there were several clean mugs strewn around the house.
"I don't like dirty mugs," Ari explained. "So once I finish drinking, I clean them with the spell, but I forget to place them back in their drawers. The mugs don't mind about staying where they are, and neither do I."
There was no wallpaper except the sheets of architecture that Ari had drawn and stuck to her walls. Some were drawings of buildings that already existed, like the Ministry of Magic HQ, the MACUSA HQ, the Burj Khalifa, the Sydney Opera House, the Louvre at Paris, the Taj Mahal, the Empire State Building, the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You name it, and I could bet a thousand dollars that you'd find a blueprint of it at her house.
It was neat in a sort of academia aesthetic sort of way, to put it in Mr. D's words. (He does like to use words that modern people use on the net these days.)
She led us up the stairs, which further led to four rooms, one for two of us. She stopped in front of the door nearest from the left, frowning. "I haven't opened this room ever since I was.... seven. The rest of the rooms are all yours. Pick and choose."
"What's special about this one?" Annabeth asked, pointing to the room that Ari had expressly forbidden us from entering.
"It's my childhood bedroom," Ari answered. "I hate it more than this house put together."
"Woah, okay," Alex said, impressed.
"Say, which goddess are you again?" Ari asked, frowning. "I remember Percy telling me something-"
"I'm the one that saved you from here," Alex replied coolly.
"The one who saved me from here..... all I can remember is a satyr named.."
"I gave you the card to meet Aster Brooke and saved you from some kers, for gods' sake," Alex said irritably. "And I trained you for four years! Such a thankless job."
"Wait," Ariana said, her eyes widening. "You're Alexandra."
"Obviously."
"The goddess with the temple on top of the-" she frowned. "I can't believe it!"
"Yeah."
"Seriously? You look tiny... and not very Alexandra... actually, you do. How did I not realize... wow."
