This takes place at the beginning of season 2. After Meredith found out about Derek wife and is trying to move on from him. But something comes up might change her life forever.
the wedding is over and Addison and I are currently staying at a hotel. it's a large hotel with two sperate rooms that are connected to each other.
I refused to sleep in the same bed or room as her but she also refused to have her own room so we settled for a conjoined room.
I've just taken a shower and I've only put on grey sweatpants but the rest of my body is still a little wet so I'm only wearing the pants.
"Derek!" I hear Addison say from the other room.
I ignore her.
as I'm towel trying my hair I get a text from my phone. it's probably Addison being a bitch. I pick up my phone and look.
I see it's Meredith. I pick up my phone and see that she's sent me a photo.
I tap on the photo.

M: this isn't very recent but it's them.
D: they're beautiful
M: if you think so then I guess. wanna name the boy? it has to start with an M though
D: yes. why M though?
M: why do you think?
D: right, stupid question
M: very stupid question, but then again it's you so I'm not surprised. I have to go, think on the name, and don't make it stupid, if I wouldn't use it then don't send it to me
D: I'll think on it
I smile as I put my phone back down. I turn around to get dressed when I see Addison. my smile drops.
"You don't look happy to see me," she says with her arms across her chest.
"I never am. I'd have to be mentally insane to enjoy your presence," I say.
"Who were you texting that made you smile like that?" she asks.
"You're mother, she asked me if a wanted to fuck, I turned her down sadly," I roll my eyes.
"Where are your clothes?" she asks.
"Up your ass. you know, you have your own room for a reason, your own room, your own bed, your own bathroom, go be alone and annoy mark, maybe have some phone shower sex,"
"you can't take your phone in the shower," she says.
"then use yours," I say grabbing some of my clothes from the dresser.
"Derek, can't we just-"
"No, get out," I say cutting her off.
"But Derek-"
"Get out Addison, you already know we're getting divorced and I don't want you. we've already discussed the divorce. stop fighting it because you won't win, now please go, I have a baby to name," I say.
"You're going to name it?" she asks.
"one of them yes, Meredith will name the other, or maybe she already has I'm not sure yet,"
"and what if she-"
"get. out!" I raise my voice.
"Fine," she rolls her eyes and goes back into her room.
I place my clothes for tomorrow on the dresser nicely folded and get back in bed.
I grab a pen and notebook from my workbag. I grab my phone and look up boy names that start with an M. I look through a few and write down some of the name that I like and some middle names that would go well with them as well.
