Hello, lovelies! Lately, I've been missing Going 78 Miles Per Hour, especially my characters, and I found inspiration to write a similar story—that I plotted in a weekend. It's crazy that it's coming into fruition, and I am so excited to share to you what lies after. I was inspired by the idea of grumpy x sunshine, while also doing the brother's best friend trope, and I came up with this! I couldn't, however, just have another book about those two tropes—I needed grit, complexity, nuanced and angst, so I found my silver lining in Born Wrong: a story that follows two broken teenagers and how they navigate the world when life has given them shit. It explores the idea of suicidal ideations, where you don't actively choose to commit suicide, but if the opportunity comes, you won't do anything to stop it. It explores parental differential treatment, where siblings in the same household experience varying relationships with their parents. It explores codependency siblings, where siblings bound together and look for each other for support at the extent of their own well-being due to the environment they were raised in. Throughout this, I truly, absolutely want to emphasis the idea that life can be awful, and shitty, and can hand you absolute shits that you don't deserve whatsoever, but you're alive, and life, in the same capacity, could be wonderful, and adventurous, and amazing and living. I hope this story resonates with you.
