Viserra's giggles echoed in the gray skies just south of the Neck, bringing smiles to the weary faces of her family. Rhaella, Daemon, and their children had been flying on dragonback for several days, trading the clear, blue sunny skies of Driftmark for the gray, cloud-filled ones of the North.

The family of Targaryens were enjoying their journey, all of the children taking after their parents in that they felt more at home up in the sky among the clouds with their dragons than they did on land. The feeling of the wind whipping through their silver and white locks, of their dragons' roars vibrating through their bodies as they soared through the air...it was a feeling unlike any other.

The people of Westeros were enjoying the family's journey as well. The dragons of House Targaryen had not been seen so far from King's Landing since the early rule of the Old King Jaehaerys and the Good Queen Alysanne when they toured Westeros atop Vermithor and Silverwing.

From Maidenpool to The Twins, the smallfolk gazed up at the sky to watch the six dragons of House Targaryen fly above them. For many, it was the first time they had seen such creatures, and they gasped and awed over their majestic power and grace. They would cheer as Vermithor and Silverwing performed turns and flew upside down, the sounds of the smallfolk reaching the family way up in the sky.

Gaelith, Caraxes, Aegarax, Vermithor, Silverwing, and Darksmoke moved as one, their shrieks and roars echoing for miles in every direction as they flew. Caraxes led the way, and Gaelith followed at the end of the group, both looking after the children of their riders and their own hatchlings as though it were second nature to them.

Daemon and Rhaella's children were divided amongst the dragons. Viserra rode with Rhaella on Gaelith while Elaena rode with Daemon, though the twins made sure to inform their parents that they were their second choice and that they only rode with them on account of the rest of their siblings already having paired up with each other.

Baelon ensured Rhaena rode with him on Aegarax as always, and Damion and Daella were paired on Darksmoke for Daella being the only other person Darksmoke would allow to ride him. The two youngest dragons kept close to Caraxes and Gaelith, recognizing their experience and importance within their little family.

Vermtihor and Silverwing were another story. While it had been decades since the two dragons had last flown across the length of Westeros with their former riders, they seemed to remember it as though it were yesterday.

Vermithor and Silvering had taken to flying up and around and underneath the other four dragons, the mated pair practically dancing with each other through the air. They rolled and flew upside down, enjoying the memories of a time long ago when their first riders, the ones they had shared cradles with, had been alive and flying.

Daemon and Rhaella watched the mated dragons carefully from their respective mounts, both amused by the sudden childish behaviors of the dragons nearly as old as Gaelith. They could hear Baela's shrieks and delighted laughter at the maneuvers Silverwing made, the Velaryon girl no doubt clutching on to Aemma with all her might despite her enjoyment of it.

Rhaegar and Aemma were by far the most adventurous of Rhaella and Daemon's children, their mischievousness and penchant for trouble having only strengthened as they grew older. Baela was the only other one of the children with an interest in it, leaving her as the only one who dared to fly on the Bronze Fury and Silverwing other than Rhaegar and Aemma.

That day, the rest of the family all watched as Vermithor and Silvering flew and twisted around each other, Viserra's giggles carrying in the wind as she watched the dragons move so sillily. Rhaella smiled fondly as she looked down at her daughter on her lap.

Viserra was at an age when everything was funny and exciting. Out of all of their children, Viserra laughed the most, the sounds of her giggles infectious to the point that they would all start laughing within seconds. Rhaella hoped that would never change.
