NeilHey! *walks into the bedroom* I heard we're gonna be roommates. I'm Neil Perry
*shakes hand*
Todd
I'm Todd Anderson
Neil
Why did you come to this school?
Todd
My brother went here.
Neil
Oh so you are that Anderson, I knew that guy!
Cameron
*walks in the room* Neil! Study group tonight?
Neil
Yeah sure!
Cameron
*looks at Todd* Oh so you got the new kid? Looks like a stiff! *laughs and walks away*
Neil
Don't mind Cameron, he can be a bit of an ass sometimes. He's fun though, I swear..
Knox, Meex and Charlie
*walk in the room*
Charlie
Rumor has it, you did summer school. *pointing at Neil*
Neil
Yep, chemistry. My father made me do it. He wanted me to get ahead. How was your
summer?
Charlie
Keen. *laughs*
Neil
Gentleman, what are the 4 pillars
Dead Poets (except for Todd)
Travesty, horror, decadence, excrement!
Charlie
So... Study group. *Starts smoking*
Knox
Yeah, Cameron asked me to. Should we include him as well?
Charlie
He's not very smart is he?
Neil
He's your roommate.
Charlie
That's not my fault!
Meeks
*looking at a very confused Todd* Sorry, hi, my name is Stephen Meeks.
Neil
Oh yeah! This is Todd Anderson.
*Todd and Meeks shake hands*
Charlie
Charlie Dalton.
Knox
Knox Overstreet.
*Todd and Knox shake hands*
Charlie
Welcome to hell-ton. This school is every bit as tough as they say. Except if you're a
genius like Meeks here.
Meeks
He flatters me, that's why I help him with Latin.
Charlie
And English, and trig.
Dead Poets
*Laugh*
*There is a knock on the "door"*
Charlie
*Puts his cigarette away quickly*
Neil
It's open.
Mr. Perry
*walks in the room*
Neil
Father! I thought you'd gone already.
Dead Poets
*Stand up to greet Mr. Perry*
Mr. Perry
Sit down. Neil, I've just spoken to Mr. Nolan. We've decided that you should drop the
school annual. That way you can focus better on the more important classes like
chemistry.
Neil
But, father, I'm the assistant editor this year.
Mr. Perry
Well, I'm sorry Neil.
Neil
But father! I can't. That wouldn't be fair!
Mr. Perry
Gentlemen would you excuse us for a moment?
Dead Poets (except Neil)
*leave*
Mr. Perry
Don't you ever contradict me in public, do you understand?
Neil
Father I wasn't-
Mr. Perry
After you've finished medical school and you're on your own you can do as you
please. But as long as you live under my roof, my guidance, you will do exactly as I
say. Is that clear?
Neil
Yes sir. I'm sorry.
Mr. Perry
And don't be sulky about it. Shoulders up!
Neil
*straightens his back*
Mr. Perry
Now that's my boy! If you need anything let us know.
Neil
Yes sir.
Mr. Perry
*Walks off stage*
Neil
*sighs*
*The 4 boys walk back on stage*
Charlie
Why doesn't he let you do what you want?
Knox
Yeah no, tell him off. Couldn't get any worse than this right?
Neil
Oh yeah sure. As if any of you would actually go through with that. Mr. Future lawyer
and Mr. Future Banker.
Charlie
Okay so I don't like it any more than you do.
Neil
Well just don't tell me how to talk to my father. You guys are the same way.
Knox
Fine, alright jesus... So what are you gonna do then?
Neil
What I have to do. Drop the annual.
Charlie
Well I wouldn't be too worried about it. It's just a bunch of jerks trying to empress
Nolan.
Neil
I don't care. I don't give a fuck about any of it.
Meeks
Well uh... Latin in my rooms? 8?
Neil
Yes! Todd, you're welcome to join us.
Todd
Thanks.
