Back in the late 1990s, a group of scientists and doctors were working with a man named, Jeff, to test out a new belt known as Proto-Phaser and weapons when they found a strange liquid known as Rider Grid. They one they were working on was called Project: Power Rider. A few days later they were attacked by a group of gang members known as Conquerians.
Few months later, Jeff's son, Rheneas was investigating an old lab that was destroyed by a group of monsters and he was captured til a few people helped Rheneas and saved him.
The people were doctors and scientists and they introduced themselves. One of the doctors, explains that after the accident, Rheneas father was captured and taken away. They realized the belt and weapons were ok so they ask Rheneas for help and get his father back. Rheneas agrees and he becomes Power Rider Prototype.
