Elena's POV
We were at Alcide's place. Or at least I think it's his place. He barely has any furniture.
Clayton was in the shower as he got a lot of whisky over him.
Sookie talked Raul who was sitting on a chair.
I've decided to check in on Alcide, as I did see him fall on some glass shards from some broken cups.
When I walked in, his shirt was already off where I can his muscular body on full display.
Fuck, he's hot.
As he takes the glass shard out, he groans in pain. But his wound started to heal quick.
He sets it aside and looks back at me. "Hey."
"Hey." Don't blush Elena. You've seen topless men before. "You fought well against Gus. Even though he had vampire blood in him." As I walk beside him, he couldn't take his eyes off me. I was on his left. Being this close to him feels different. In a good way. "Bill's, in fact, so I know it's strong. But no where near Eric's level. He's a thousand years old."
Alcide looks out the window and sighs. "Werewolves doing V? Goes against everything we stand for. The rest of the pack into that shit?"
"At least the ones that abducted Bill." I replied.
"Like I need more reasons to hate them." Either the vampires or the Weres that are on V? Either way, we gotta find out who's getting them addicted.
But there was something I wanted to know. About Debbie. "Sorry for asking this, but... is Debbie your ex-girlfriend?"
He sighs. "She's my fiancée. She moved out a month ago."
I frowned, like what? "A month? And you still haven't got new furniture?" Like come on, man, at least if you two had plan to spend the rest of your life together, at least make it look nice or buy stuff that will allow people to lounge.
"I don't have time for it."
"You ever hear from her?" I asked.
"My sister, Janice, does. She runs a beauty parlor. Debbie still goes in to get her hair done up."
"I can't believe she would leave you. I mean the whole ride from Bon Tempt to Shiverport to Jackson, you seemed like a loyal, respectful and decent man." If I meet Debbie, I wanna ask her how could she leave a man like Alcide? I saw that Alcide was looking into my eyes. Those brown eyes starring right at me.
"Uhh, guys." Raul calls out to us and we look at home. "Sookie is crying. I think her boyfriend just broke up with her over the phone."
What?
We went to Sookie, and she was crying. "Oh Sookie." I ran up to her and hugged her.
Third Person's POV
After Clayton got dressed, Elena was told that Bill broke up with her over the phone because of a vampire name Lorena.
From what Bill told me, she's his Maker. The one who turned him. There is bad blood between him and this Lorena.
Elena can't blame him. Bill never asked to be a vampire. Just like Jessica. Another reason why she doesn't like vampires. Half the time they turn people even if that human didn't want to be turned. Being limited to night times, forced to drink blood, unable to eat human food and hunted for their own blood and being hated because of what they are. Unable to have kids.
'What the hell is Bill doing? He can't mean what he says. But if he did, he's not wrong. I mean, he and Sookie live in two different worlds. Or as one would put it. He's immortal and Sookie isn't. She'll get old while he'll remain the same.'
"What does he mean, he doesn't wanna be found?" Sookie asked, still crying.
Clayton comes up, just black sweat pants, no shirt. "I'm pretty sure it means he doesn't wanna see you anymore."
Elena is unsure if Bill is telling the truth or not. Vampires have no heart beat. There for it's not easy to tell if they're lying.
"That isn't what he said." Sookie said in a disbelief tone.
"Well, what do you think he said?" Elena asked, softly though.
"I don't know what he said. I iust know that isn't the man I love."
'Maybe. He could be saying that to protect her.' Elena thought.
"Well, maybe the man you love never existed except in your head." Alcide thought. Elena sent a glare at him. 'Not helping.'
"Is that supposed to be making me feel better?" Sookie was tearing up big time.
Alcide explains more. "No matter how well you think you know somebody, they can still turn around and kick you right in the nut sac."
"I don't have a nut sac, and Bill..." Elena rubbed Sookie's back as she cries. "he's risked everything for me. Our love is way bigger than him breaking up with me over the phone."
"That is messed up." Raul chirps in.
"How many relationships you been in?" Clayton asked, wondering because Sookie is not taking this break up well.
"What does that matter?"
Elena stepped in. "I'm pretty sure what Clayton and Alcide are trying to say is that there's no nice way of getting out of these things."
"Come here." Clayton sat beside her and brought her close to his body.
As Sookie hugs him, she feels how warm he is. "Oh my god. You're so warm."
"It's a wolf thing. But we Primals are warmer then regular wolves. It's how we can survive cold temperatures." Clayton explained.
Elena wondered why when she hugged Jason at one point, he body was warm. She thought she may have had the flu or something. But turns out she's naturally warmer. It's normal.
"If you want, we could give you some privacy. To take all this in." Clayton said, getting up. Elena thought it best since she wanted to talk to them both.
"That's the last thing I want." They looked at Sookie.
"If you want, I'll keep you company." Raul volunteered.
"Yeah, Sook, let me and the guys talk for a moment. And since Raul is going to be with us in Bon Tempt. Ok?" Sookie nods and the three adult wolves went where she's not within a earshot. "I don't think Bill meant what he said. He's likely saying that to protect Sookie. And until we know for certain that he's done with her, we disregard what he said and find out what kind of trouble he's in."
"Are you sure?" Alcide asked. "He could be telling the truth?"
"No. Elena's right." Clayton said. "I've heard about this Lorena. She's an evil temptress. Even for a vamp. And that's not all, the Weres we fought, they were a bit stronger then I thought.
"Eric did say that if a werewolf consumes their blood then their abilities becomes a challenge. But what didn't say is that it depends on how old the vampire they drank from." Elena explained her theory.
"The older the vamp, the stronger their blood is." Clayton realized. "Fucking hell. They sold their souls to a vamp. And old one at that."
"We'll figure this out tomorrow. And let's hope we find something useful, because I have to go home and work and get Raul set up for school." Elena looked Alcide, then Clayton.
"I'll get the blowup mattress."
