The Chaos Council had been defeated, so Nine was bringing Sonic and Shadow back home in his shard powered ship since Sonic had run out of energy to travel the Shatterverse. As they travel through the Shatterverse, Nine couldn't help but think that this was going to be the last time that he is going to see Sonic. He knew that once Sonic got home he wasn't gonna need him anymore since he'll have his real brother, the Tails of his world. Then he would be alone again, just like before. Then, Nine is snapped out of his thoughts as they enter their destination. They soon lands in front of a group of familiar figures and the ship opens. They walk out and Nine is blinded by how bright and colorful the world is. Sonic is surrounded by the group, but they seem like they know him and are happy that he has returned while Shadow, who is watching with his arms crossed, is approached by a white bat that looks similar to Rogue and they start talking. Nine smiles watching this before frowning knowing that it was time for him to leave as he walks back to his ship. Sonic notices this and calls out to him, "Nine wait!" Nine stops and turns to him looking confused. Sonic says, "I just wanted to say thanks for bringing me and Shadow. Also, where are you planning on going?" Nine looks down and shrugs, "I'm not sure... I don't really want to go back to New Yoke City since nobody really likes me there... maybe I'll go live in the Grim... I don't know..." Sonic says, "Really? It's pretty empty there. Won't you be lonely all by yourself?" Nine shakes his head and says, "I'll be fine... I'm used to being alone." Sonic then suggests, "Well, you could always stay here with us if you want?" Nine looks at him in suprise and asks, "R-Really? You mean it? But I thought you wouldn't need me any more since you have your version of me back." Sonic nods and smiles saying, "Of course, just because I have Tails back doesn't mean I don't want you around. Besides, its like I always say. Two 'Tails' are better than one. Right?" Nine couldn't help but tear up and hug him as he mumbles out, "Th-Thank you.." Sonic hugs him back and chuckles saying, "No problem lil bud. How about I introduce you to my friends." Nine wipes his tears and nods smiling. Finally, Nine had a place to call... Home.
